TACOMA REDD JOINS HIGH4RECORDS NXNE SHOWCASE

Leading up to the release of Tacoma Redd’s debut EP, A Momentary Misfortune, the Toronto based powerpop/rock band will be performing at NXNE as a part of the High4Records Showcase at Kathedral on Saturday, June 10th at 10pm.

Tacoma Redd received positive media attention at Canadian Music Week that they were not expecting since it was the bands first festival appearance.  From CMW alone, the band was featured on Karen Bliss’s Lowdown on Inside Jam  TV, interviewed on the international Barshots TV and received rave live reviews from Spill and Tangible Sounds Magazines.

With influences such as Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World, Husker Du and AFI, Tacoma Redd features  Doug Smart on vocals, Bryan Richards on guitar, Chris Bell on bass and Dean Glover on drums.  Although they formed in 2003, things really started happening in 2005 as they shared bills with Billy Idol, Bif Naked, The Illuminati, and Robin Black and by years end they were recording with Moe Berg (The Pursuit of Happiness) at Chemical Sound.

A Momentary Misfortune is set to be released independently on July 25th with a CD release party at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern on Dave Bookman’s Nu Music Nite with The Edge (102.1) followed by regional tour dates.  Tacoma Redd will also be featured in and on the soundtrack of a rock and roll movie called Allergic to Reality currently being shot in Toronto.

JOHN WAITE

Frontiers Records are pleased to announce the European release of JOHN WAITE’s new studio album “DOWNTOWN Journey of a Heart” on July 7th 2006.

The new record is a selection of classic songs from Waite’s repertoire which have been completely re-arranged and re-recorded from scratch. “It’s a sort of a greatest hits retrospective release that also looks ahead, a way to express musically the different phases on my career”, explains the Lancaster-born singer.

John Waite has had several songs — including “Missing You”, the BABYS “Isn’t It Time” and BAD ENGLISH’s “When I See You Smile” — becoming radio staples worldwide. Even if best known for his ballads, John is truly a rocker in his heart.

“This new record is a way to connect together the three different parts of my career, with Babys, Bad English and as a solo artist”, says Waite, adding “The approach to the new recording of the old classics was very simple and basic, based on the way I play the songs live. Direct and rock… just guitars, Hammond, piano… no synth”.

In addition to a careful selection of his classics,  Waite recorded two new songs.  “Highway 61”, an infectious  Bob Dylan cover which is straight ahead blues rock and “St. Patrick’s Day”, a cinematic lullaby about two people meeting in New York and falling in love. Both represent the direction I am about to take next for the prosecution of my solo career”.

The final tracklisting of “DOWNTOWN Journey of a Heart” includes the following songs: The Hard Way; In Dreams; Blue Venus; Missing You; Keys To Your Heart; Highway 61; Isn’t It Time; St. Patrick’s Day; New York City Girl; Headfirst; Downtown; When I See You Smile.

Don’t miss John Waite live at the upcoming ARROW ROCK Festival in Lichtenvoorde, Holland on June 9th2006, while further live dates are being scheduled for the fall.

Hollywood’s best kept secret the “Peppermint Creeps” will be on tour this summer supporting their latest release, “We R’ The Weirdoz,” which also coincides with the 9th anniversary of the band.
The band is most recently known for being selected as one of Five finalists in music channel Fuse TV’s worldwide unsigned band Video Contest for their comical song and video entitled “Lesbian”, which is one of four video singles conceived, produced, directed, and edited by band member and drummer Traci Michaelz. The video is also a 2006 nominee for the Los Angeles Film Festival.

The “do it yourself” band has since become a hit on the popular networking and music website MySpace which boasts over 30 million members worldwide. Out of thousands of bands, they currently hold MySpace Music’s Top Artists’ number one spot for Glam bands rivaling legendary bands such as Poison or Motley Crue. The band also basks in the Top 20 for both Goth and Pop Punk categories.

For the band members having played in various well known bands throughout the years including Pretty Boy Floyd (MCA/Universal), Total Chaos (Epitaph), Heart Throb Mob (Alkaloid Junkie), and Christian Death (Century Media), there will be no shortage of material on this tour.

Band Member Eddie Electra states “This tour is a reflection of everything that makes us who we are. Expect to hear the kind of songs we are known for, as well as some material from the bands that influenced us, including those we were once a part of!”
The bands original music has been self-described as “Cyber Anime Punk Pop Glam Rawk”. A closer listen also reveals on some tracks, elements of 1950′s “Doo Wop”, Thrash, and Ska.

The Peppermint Creeps first came together at the tail end of the Grunge era in 1997. The first CD CREEPSHOW was entirely financed by the band and produced by Phil Soussan and Randy Castillo both former band members for Rock Legend Ozzy Osbourne.

Punks, Goths, and Metal Heads appear to each embrace different aspects of the band known for their outlandish makeup, costumes, and tight stage show. In the live setting it’s not uncommon to see fans of bands such as My Chemical Romance, Blink 182, Green Day and AFI along side fans of 80′s “Hair bands” like Motley Crue, Kiss, or Poison.

Having never acquired an agent or recording contract, the group managed to still bring itself public via music publications around the world such as Kerrang, Metal Edge and Revolver. The group has also been spotted on various rock related specials seen on “E” Entertainment, VH-1, and MTV, and their music has been played on radio stations and in discotheques around the world.

This marks the fifth USA tour for the band, which has plans for Europe next.

SMALL STONE RECORDS’
DIXIE WITCH ANNOUNCE CANADIAN TOUR DATES

AUSTIN ROCKERS GEAR UP FOR 3 CANADIAN SHOWS
IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM ‘SMOKE AND MIRRORS’

Small Stone Records recording artists Dixie Witch have just announced a string of upcoming tour dates, including 3 Canadian appearances in support of their new album ‘Smoke and Mirrors’.

Already a favorite amongst underground heavy rawk and stoner rock fans, the band is currently on an east-coast tour of the United States, which will include support dates with Orange Goblin (UK). But look out Canada(!!), because next week Dixie Witch are set to unleash their explosive fury north of the border when they bring their groove-laden and riff-heavy Southern-influenced rawk to these cities:

May 22 – Montreal, PQ – Café Campus
May 23 – London, ON – Call The Office
May 24 – Toronto, ON – Bovine Sex Club

About DIXIE WITCH:
When the road is the only home you know, a band that begins as a group of talented and exuberant musicians better hope it can transform into a well-oiled rawk machine capable of destroying every venue in its path.  Case in point: Austin’s Dixie Witch.  Born in the fall of 1999, Dixie Witch played their first live show at the legendary (and now extinct) Emo’s in Houston, Texas in January of 2000…and from that first explosive show came a relentless touring schedule that saw the band criss-crossing their homeland and gaining a loyal and ever-growing following along the way.

In August of 2000, DW recorded a well-received five-song demo, garnering them national attention and a great deal of buzz generated via the internet.  By the beginning of 2001, DW had inked their first record deal with the Texas-based Doom Metal label, Brainticket Records. The band’s self-produced debut album ‘Into the Sun’ was released in late May of 2001, and met with international praise from the underground heavy rock scene (the album has since been re-issued by Small Stone Records).  Dixie Witch followed up the release of ‘Into the Sun’ with an intense Summer 2001 touring schedule throughout the US, travelling from coast to coast on the “Southern Domination Tour” with Alabama Thunderpussy and Suplecs. The next four years was a blur of roadside rest stops, recording studios and countless club dates.  2003 brought the boys of DW to their new home at Small Stone Records and saw the release of ‘One Bird, Two Stones’.

With thousands of miles of road under their collective belt, Dixie Witch have honed their talents to a razor sharp point culminating in the epic ‘Smoke & Mirrors’.  Produced, engineered and mixed by Joel Hamilton (Unsane, Mike Patton, Elvis Costello, Gil Scott Heron), ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ encapsulates six long years on the road into just under an hour of the loudest, dirtiest rock n’ roll the boys could muster up. The Southern charm comes oozing through thick riffs, powerful percussion and classic American songwriting. With a masterpiece under their belts, the tour that never ends will rise up again this spring, bringing the explosive fury of a Dixie Witch live show back where the boys feel most comfortable…. on the road again.

Updates from Frontiers Records

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the details of the European release of FAIR WARNING’s reunion album which has a working title of “Brother’s Keeper” in Europe.

The band, which is now formed by singer Tommy Heart, guitarist Helge Engelke, bassist Ule W. Ritgen and CC Behrens on drums, and started working on the new songs in the fall 2005.

The new album, according to Ule W. Ritgen is going to be “the most powerful we have done so far” and even if “we have tried to be heavier this time, we wanted to keep our melodic approach intact. By the first feedbacks we´re getting, it worked out really well!”

The album will include in no particular order the following tracks: All I Wanna Do; All Of My Love; Don’t Keep Me Waiting; Generation Jedi; In The Dark; No Limit; The Cry (working title); Once Bitten Twice Shy; Push Me On; Rainbow Eyes; Tell Me Lies; The Way; Wasted Time.

“Regarding the songwriting and stylistic variety”, adds Ule “we kept and refined the typical FW style, yet the approach and performance of each member is so much more unrestricted and intense”.

“It´s great to come back with an album like this, because now – in the final stages of mixing  – listening back to what we have achieved, really makes us proud and confident, and that feels good…”, concludes the bassist.

In addition to this highly anticipated release – scheduled for release in Europe on August 25th 2006 – Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release, as a special appetizer of three back catalogue FAIR WARNING products, highly sought by collectors.

On July 9th, reissues of FAIR WARNING’s first two albums: the self titled debut and “Rainmaker” (a record who sold a respectable 150,000 copies in Japan in the year of its original release, 1995) will hit the streets in Europe in their original artwork and tracklisting !

FAIR WARNING’s debut record is considered by many as a pure Melodic Hard Rock masterpiece. Produced by Rafe McKenna (GIANT, TEN, BAD COMPANY), the record reflected the creative environment of the band “very close the late 80’s USA Arena Rock sound”, while “Rainmaker” was a more mature effort, which gave the band the opportunity to produce themselves and sported their first hit single “Burning Heart”.

For the un-initiated here come samples of Longing For Love and The Heat of Emotion (off of “Fair Warning”) and Don’t Give Up and Stars And The Moon (off of “Rainmaker”)

In addition to these long out of print gems reissues, Frontiers Records will release the “Call Of The East – Live in Japan” DVD, a filming of an entire show held at the Club Citta in Kawasaki, Japan, on April 18th 1993. This DVD will be released in NTSC region free format and shall include the following tracklisting:
Sunset (intro); Out On The Run; Longing For Love; When Love Fails; Eastern Sun; Crazy; Take Me Up; Long Gone; Take A Look At The Future; Children’s Eyes; Hang On; The Eyes of Rock; One Step Closer; A Little More Love.  Plus the extra tracks: The Heat of Emotion; The Call of The Heart; In The Ghetto; Sukiyaki; Mickey’s Monkey.

Six years after the highly acclaimed release of “Four”, get ready for a FAIR WARNING full style return and huge melodic hard rock overload !!

WINGER

Frontiers Records is particularly excited to announce the signing of WINGER for a brand new reunion studio album!

Born in 1987 under the initiative of former ALICE COOPER band member Kip Winger (vocals, bass) and Reb Beach (guitars), WINGER’s lineup was completed by Paul Taylor (another ex ALICE COOPER on guitars and keyboards) and former DIXIE DREGS drummer Rod Morgenstein.

WINGER recorded three very successful studio albums. The self-titled debut, was released in 1988 on Atlantic, achieved platinum status in the United States, and gold in Japan and Canada sporting such hits as “Madalaine”, “Seventeen” and “Headed For A Heartbreak”.

In 1990, the band was nominated for an American Music Award for “Best New Heavy Metal Band”. Shortly after, WINGER released its second album “In the Heart of the Young”, which went platinum in the U.S. and gold in Japan. The album included WINGER’s biggest hit “Miles Away”, who topped at #12 of Billboard charts in the USA.

Their third and last studio album, “Pull”, was recorded in 1992/93 as a three-piece band, following Paul Taylor’s departure. Produced by Mike Shipley, on the following tour John Roth was called in to replace Paul Taylor.

After the “Pull” tour, Kip Winger embarked on a solo career which encompassed 3 successful solo albums, singing with ALAN PARSONS live Project, 2 film scores plus performing over 400 acoustic shows and writing and producing for countless other artists. Reb Beach recorded one solo album, joined ALICE COOPER, DOKKEN and now WHITESNAKE, later joining Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger), Timothy Drury (WHITESNAKE) and Doug Pinnick (KING’S X) to form the Hard Rock combo “THE MOB”. Rod Morgenstein went on to form the RUDESS / MORGENSTEIN project with Jordan Rudess (DREAM THEATER) and later JELLY JAM with Ty Tabor (KING’S X) and John Myung (DREAM THEATER). He is currently associate professor at Berkley College of Music.

In 2001 the band returned to the studio to record the song “On the Inside” for “The Very Best of Winger”. In 2002 they reunited to tour the US and Canada on a bill with POISON and CINDERELLA.

Now, after years of consideration Kip Winger decided to reunite WINGER for a brand new album. This finally happened when he actually “heard” the musical path where he could “move the band sound forward, without repeating the same music over and over”.

Kip therefore started at the beginning of 2006 to write new material with guitarist Reb Beach who “thought it would NEVER happen! But what we have worked on sounds really good and I have been so excited to be working with Kip on our own stuff again”.

Kip and Reb called up original drummer Rod Morgenstein and John Roth (on guitar and vocals) and  Cenk Eroglu (XCARNATION) On keyboards and sound FX and quickly started the recording session which, at this stage, are almost completed.

“The new WINGER album” says Kip, “will start where “Pull” left off and will move forward to new directions mixing some classic Hard Rock like VAN HALEN and early WINGER style, progressive and acoustic elements that may resemble GENESIS, MOTT THE HOOPLE or KING CRIMSON”. Kip has also revealed some new song titles “Right Up Ahead”, “Blue Suede Shoes”, “Four Leaf Clover” “M16″ and has also confirmed that the album artwork will be handled by Ethan Van Sciver – a renowned comic book artist and penciller who has contributed (among others) to Cyberfrog, New X-Men, The Flash: Iron Heights and Impulse.

WINGER are currently working on touring plans in USA, Europe and Japan in support of the release of the album – a Frontiers Records world exclusive – scheduled for release in October 2006.

Frontiers Records President, Serafino Perugino commented: “We are particularly proud to announce this news. We have been working on this concept for years and when Kip opened his doors we have been enormously excited. We hope the fans can appreciate the work of these Hard Rock geniuses and enjoy some great new music”.

KOCH ENTERTAINMENT CANADA AND NEVADA ENTERTAINMENT SCORE UNPRECIDENTED SUCCESS IN CANADIAN RADIO HISTORY
KOCH SIGNS NEW LABELS TO AUDIO DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENTS INCLUDING BBE MUSIC, HI-BIAS, PAID IN FULL, MADE RECORDS

KOCH Entertainment, a division of Entertainment One Limited Partnership, and the leading independent distributor in Canada, along with leading independent recording label Nevada Entertainment have reached unprecedented chart placements in the Canadian music industry – 5 songs on the BDS Top 40 charts from one independent label.

“We were surprised that this has not happened before, considering the great success that other independent labels have achieved in Canada,” says KOCH Entertainment President Dominique Zgarka. “I have long trusted the ears of Jeff Burns, and he has come through again, – Big time!”

Nevada President Jeff Burns has a long and storied history in the Canadian music industry, and he is elated at the news. “While we treat each project to stand on its own, these artists are definitely helping build the reputation of Nevada as one of the premiere independent labels in Canada. The fact that all of these artists were, and still are, relatively newcomers, is astounding, and could not have achieved it without the support of radio across Canada.”

BRANDON PARIS BAND’S  “Rewind And Start Again” single is currently Number 35 on the BDS CHR Chart. Growing up in a musically diverse family, Brandon crafted and cultivated his varied musical influences into his own inimitable style. His parents, who migrated from the Caribbean island of Trinidad & Tobago, would spin records from Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong and BB King, while his older brothers would be blasting hard rock from legends like Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, AC/DC and Kiss. Brandon’s musical journey has led him in many directions, culminating in a style that mixes heavy guitar riffs with funky reggae and grooving bass lines, but with a delivery which remains strictly his own.

BIANCA’S “Vegas” single is currently Number 31 on the BDS CHR Chart. On the radar to make a lasting impression, Bianca emerges from Salt Lake City, Utah to put you back on the dance-floor and in sync with your senses. She was fortunate enough to work with such mega writer/producers on her debut album as Damon Sharpe (Jennifer Lopez/Mya), Lindy Robbins (The Backstreet Boys “Incomplete”), Younglord (Notorious B.I.G., 112), Steve Kipner (Natasha Bedingfield, Christina Aguilera), and The BananaToons (Kelly Rowland, Jessica Simpson).

ROSETTE’S “Uh Oh” single is currently Number 12 on the BDS CHR Chart. Her debut single “Crushed” is currently Number 21 on the BDS CHR Chart. This is her second smash hit – the followup to the first song released from her album Uh Oh, “Crushed” has landed Rosette in the No. 1 spot on the Cancon Top 40 music charts for best single three weeks running, snagging No. 6 internationally. Her debut video has also been put in the rotation at MuchMusic, MuchMore, MuchVibe, Razer, MusiMax and PunchMuch, where it became the No. 2 video request Canadian viewers pay for. Winner of the 2006 FAVOURITE POP ARTIST/GROUP at the Canadian Music Week Indie Awards, Rosette is currently on the cover of VEX Magazine, one of the leading glossy entertainment magazines in Canada.

JEFF MARTIN’s “The World Is Calling” is currently Number 45 on the BDS Rock Charts. After disbanding one of Canada’s biggest rock bands, The Tea Party, Jeff released The Exile And The Kingdom, originally slated as an acoustic record. But bringing drummer Michael Lee (Page/Plant) and Ritesh Das (Toronto Tabla Ensemble) quickly changed all that. The album debuted in the Top 20 on the Canadian Soundscan Top 200 Album Chart, and Number 2 on the Canadian Soundscan Independent Album Chart.

Nevada Entertainment’s next release is Montreal-based STEFAN MCNICOLL.  Stefan has performed more than 150 shows, writing and testing his own material, selling indie-made CDs off-stage and premiering a video on MusiquePlus and Much Music.  With the release of Contradictions of Life this summer, his rockin’ “A Little Bit Of Sunshine” just might be the 6th song to break on BDS soon enough.

NEW LABEL ANNOUNCEMENTS

As KOCH Entertainment maintains its commitment to expanding on our eclectic assortment of music and video across all genres, we are pleased this month to announce new distribution agreements for Canada. Please see below for details on each.

HI-BIAS RECORDS

For an independent label to survive over a full decade in the volatile world of the record industry is a major milestone. Hi-Bias hasn’t just survived. It has thrived, and that’s an achievement worthy of serious celebration. In 1999, the label’s driving force, Nick Fiorucci, was inducted into the CanDance Hall of Fame. The Hall, dedicated to the pioneers and builders of Canadian dance music, recognized Hi-Bias as Canada’s most successful underground dance indie. Hi-Bias’s achievements in Canada only tell part of the story. Its global vision has been a crucial ingredient in its success. Nick Fiorucci has taken Canadian dance music to the world, and in turn introduced new styles and artists to the domestic market. Look for continued success from this heavyweight label.

PAID IN FULL

Paid In Full, LLC was formed in 2001 by Los Angeles-based businessman, Flaviano Arroyo, originally as a concert promotion company.  Over time, Mr. Arroyo developed an interest in music and film particularly in the urban genres and decided to expand his fledgling business.  A chance meeting with one of the founders of Bayside Distribution’s Urban Music Division, Brandon C. Rodegeb, would lead to a fruitful partnership and a commitment to attack the indie rap and film world with full force.  Paid In Full has an exciting roster for the new year, including a new solo album from gold recording artist and rap legend MC Eiht, as well as upcoming projects with Southern rap titan Haystak and underground Chicano rap stars Gemini and Fade Dogg.  Future projects are also in the works with Planet Asia, Smigg Dirtee and A-Wax.

MADE RECORDS

Founded in 2000, Made Records is determined and motivated to continue releasing quality dance music with the intentions to break both underground and mainstream societies.  Being home to such acts as the alternative and euphoric Nymph and one and only iiO, Made Records seeks to expose tasteful, genre breaking releases and cutting edge compositions. Made Record is helmed by Markus Moser, who brings an extensive background as a world wide renowned producer. As the founder of the group iiO , who brought the pop/dance world the #1 worldwide smash “Rapture” (Universal Records), Markus continues to cement his reputation as an A&R force, a force solely focused on the success of MADE Records.  With upcoming releases from Jimmy James, Liz Scott, Nadia Ali and the long anticipated debut album from iiO, 2006 promises to be an exciting launch for Made Records.

BBE MUSIC

BBE model’s itself on the motto of ‘real music for real people’ and this is clearly seen by the fact that there are now over 40 compilation albums released, profiling a variety of sounds and styles from funk and soul to disco and Latin as well as house and hip hop. Compilers from home and abroad have been brought in to add their expertise and in turn the label has aligned itself with many artists as well as genres of music. This association with artists has been strongly built upon by the introduction of the Beat Generation; a series of beat based albums from a number of exceptional and pivotal hip -hop producers. The ethos behind this series was to allow these producers to create albums that drew from all their influences and all the sounds that had in some way contributed to the music they had made and continue to make. The series kicked off to a fantastic start with Jay Dee’s ‘Welcome to Detroit’ (shortlisted for the American Award for Artistic Achievement) and this was shortly followed by Pete Rock, Will.i.am (of the Black Eyed Peas) and Marley Marl. Each album is an individual experiment but also enables the series to flourish in its aims and the music it is exhibiting. Expect new releases in 20006 from J Dilla, Nicolay, Foreign Exchange and more.

ONE DEAD THREE WOUNDED To Release
MOVING UNITS On 1×1 Music, July 18th, 2006

On July 18th, 2006, One Dead Three Wounded will release Moving Units, their sophomore effort on New Jersey-based 1×1 Music. “We spent more time on this record… a year…it makes for a better record,” says vocalist Tim Zahodski. “It’s more aggressive, pissed off, cynical…and it’s better written.” Continuing in the band’s unique style, Moving Units is a metal/hardcore fan’s fantasy album: the bastard child of Southern grooves and sledgehammer breakdowns.

“Moving Units is our reaction to the insincerity of the business side of music. We’ve never been in a position where that mattered. It’s a record that really questions our ethics and our place as apart of the industry.
It also serves as a reminder for our future selves to not get sucked into it all. I want it to remind us what motivated us to play music to begin with: five kids in a van, in a basement, or a hall sharing something.”

One Dead Three Wounded tours constantly and presents a crushing live performance. “That’s what the song ‘Pretty Faces, Shitty Places’ is about. We play in some of the worst parts of town whenever we go on tour, but it’s great to see all of these kids come out just to see us.”
The band immediately gets the crowd moving, and it’s not uncommon for kids to rush the stage in an attempt to share vocal duties with Zahodski, especially in Philadelphia. “The fans react really well. You cannot recreate the feelings of a live hometown show.”

A track listing for Moving Units comprises:

1) Planning Obsolescence
2) Black Holes
3) Moving Units
4) Soldiers
5) Cold War
6) Cardia
7) Pretty Faces, Shitty Places
8) We’re Broke Til Payday
9) Compassionate Assassins
10) Bad Business

ALL THAT REMAINS TO RELEASE “THE FALL OF IDEALS” JULY 11TH

OZZFEST SECOND STAGE SLOT CONFIRMED

Prosthetic recording artists All That Remains are set to release their new album, THE FALL OF IDEALS, on July 11th.  The album is the follow-up to their 2004 debut THIS DARKENED HEART, which sold over 75,000 copies.  The explosive metal quintet has come to be known for their heavy riffs, memorable hooks and rowdy live shows.  Revolver Magazine recently dubbed them “the future of American metal”.

Of the band’s new album, vocalist Phil Labonte said, “People have a certain idea of what this band is.  When they hear the new stuff, they will notice a new approach integrated with our original style. The riffs sound familiar, but with the new layers of song dynamics, it’s now a completely different animal.  It’s almost like a new way to look at an old friend.”

Produced by Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage) and engineered by Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork), the first single from the album is “This Calling”.  An mp3 for “This Calling” is available here: http://www.prostheticrecords.com/audiovideo/allthatremains/thiscalling.mp3.  The album was recorded during breaks from a hectic calendar of tour dates in March at Zing Studios in the band’s native Massachusetts.

Frontiers set to release ‘New’ Shark Island disc.
SHARK ISLAND

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the European release of, SHARK ISLAND’s, highly anticipated album “Gathering of the Faithful” on July 7th 2006.

Born out of the ashes of, THE SHARKS, SHARK ISLAND was among the biggest and most prolific live acts in Los Angeles.  This was in an era when there were literally hundreds of bands playing the Sunset Strip scene. They were trendsetters and imitated by many in the LA  club rock scene at the time.

The band’s major debut “Law of the Order” was released in 1989 on Epic Records.  It became a cult hit.  SHARK ISLAND continued to tour hard, but destiny would dictate that they would not become the megastars many of their followers expected.

The guys eventually went their own ways, reuniting in 2005 under the initiative of executive producer Robert Marshall of Manifest Music who was able to contact guitarist Spencer Sercombe with a proposal; to re-write and give official release to some brilliant tracks that were unfortunately never fully developed.

To facilitate the recording of the new album, Spencer Sercombe flew out from Germany; Christian Heilmann came in from England and a phenomenal new drummer from So Cal, by the name of Glen Sobel (Beautiful Creatures, Ken Tamplin) joined the lineup. “The creative environment for “Gathering of the Faithful”, was simply mammoth”, states singer Richard Black.

After 9 months of work, the brand new studio album “Gathering of the Faithful” is now complete. Richard Black says: “I think stylistically, it is closer to the original concept of SHARK ISLAND.  What we have here is some new, some old, blended with wisdom and aged like fine 12 year old scotch. You can’t rush that”.

“Gathering of the Faithful” shall include the following tracks (click on the song title to hear an mp3 sample)
Blue Skies, Tomorrow’s Child; The Stranger; Go West; Welcome Goodbye; Life Goes On; Down To The Ground; Looking For The Sun; Heaven; I Had A Dream; Will To Power; Need Your Love; Temptation.

Long time fans of the band have something great to look forward to.  And for those of you, to whom the band is new, welcome to SHARK ISLAND, enjoy!

3 Announces US Tour in Support of New Album “Wake Pig”
Band Has Been Receiving Critical Acclaim for Their Debut

Riding high off the success of their label debut “Wake Pig” (November 2005, Metal Blade Records), 3 has revealed plans for a summer tour that kicks off May 25th in Albany, NY and will have them criss-crossing the country before ending June 30th in Riverside, CA.

“Wake Pig”, which has been described as “musicality without pretension,” seeks to transcend the conformity of modern pop culture with its rapid-fire acoustic guitar, dynamic percussion, animated drumming and thunderous bass. Since its release late last year, the album has been receiving rave reviews from fans and critics alike, including Zero Magazine who proclaimed “If you are a fan of music, and all things that exude the finest of quality and musicianship, then please do yourself a favor and listen to 3.”

However, it’s not just the critics who are taking notice of 3. After hearing the band’s album, Coheed and Cambria were so impressed by its symphony of driving metal guitars and melodic vocal acrobatics, that they invited 3 to join them on tour last year. 3 has also shared the stage with the likes of Underoath, Boys Night Out, Bad Brains, The Bronx, Orange 9mm, Vendetta Red, and Your Enemies Friends, and many more.

Now, about to embark on a solo tour, 3 says that they couldn’t be any happier about the response that they have been receiving. “It’s just been an unbelievable experience,” said __ of 3. “We aren’t a band that can be type cast as one genre or another which tends to confuse people.
But, we’ve seen a reverse reaction; it’s like they’re trying to figure us out. Which is exactly what we’re about.”

“Wake Pig” was produced by Tom Benton and includes 13 songs. The track listing is as follows:

Alien Angel
Monster
Dregs
Wake Pig
Bramfatura
Trust
Dogs of War
Soul to Sell
One Way Town
Queen Circus Without Clowns
Where’s Max?
Amaze Disgrace

BLACK WIDOW SPIDER BITE PUTS FULL BLOWN CHAOS ON THE SIDE LINE FOR 2 SHOWS!  FBC REFOCUS AND CONTINUE TO TRUCK ON ALL SUMMER LONG ON OZZFEST + SPECIAL OFFFEST DATES TBA!!!

After a great show in Ft. Lauderdale, FBC went back to their hotel room to party.  Vocalist, Ray Mazzola states, “I had a couple of large Jager beverages and passed out on the floor of the room.”  The next day Ray felt a lingering pain in his knee.  “I have never felt such a sense of inner blight,” says FBC’s frontman.  Still not missing the show that night, Ray became immobilized after their set and “took a bunch of antihistamines to bring the cantaloupe sized swelling down.”  Ray continued to feel soreness and cramping in his joints/muscles.  He felt his blood boiling and having fever, nausea, sweats, and shakes.

With concern, Ray asked nature buff, Gary Holt of Exodus to take a look at his knee.  Gary instantly told Ray that he was bit by a black widow.  After going with the hospital, Ray found out the truth to Gary’s claim.  He was bitten by a Southern Black Widow in his sleep.  Too late to receive treatment, Ray had to endure the symptoms and deal with sporatic pain and stiffness.  With all this pain, FBC only missed two Canadian dates to follow up with the doctor.  In conclusion, Ray states, “fuck spiders.”

Full Blown Chaos will continue to tour through Ozzfest in support of their upcoming album “Within the Grasp of Titans” out on Stillborn set to be released on July 11th.

GUITAR PRODIGY – DARIO LORINA TO SWING HIS AXE FOR JANI LANE’S SUMMER TOUR

Teen guitar virtuoso Dario Lorina has been making waves in the music industry in the last few years. Lorina has caught the eye of many fans and rockstars alike with his fired-up live performances and his Randy Rhodes styling. Enough so that he was the choice, out of a hundred plus players, that Jani Lane had to have. Lorina nailed every song set before him with complete accuracy and grace.

Lorina, originally from Boston, Massachusetts, started taking private lessons at six. It was clear to his instructors that he had a talent well beyond his age, which led him to relocate to Las Vegas, Nevada to pursue his music career at the age of twelve.

Living in Las Vegas and taking advantage of the Los Angeles music scene has given Lorina the opportunity to meet and perform his talent for such notable rock icons as John Petrucci of Dream Theater, Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum of Slaughter, Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, Skid Row, Chris Degarmo and Michael Wilton of Queensryche, Michael Anthony of Van Halen, George Lynch and Billy Sheehan.

Now you can see him live on tour~~ For more information on Dario Lorina click on www.dariolorina.com or join him on www.myspace. com/dariolorina

Mower Shoots New Video with Hatebreed Director, Plus Tour With (hed)p.e. And Wicked Wisdom To Support Their New Album “Not For You” CD.

Mower recently shot a video on location in Los Angeles for the track “Road Rage” from their forthcoming CD, Not For You, due out May 16, 2006.  Dale Restighini (Hatebreed,Trivium) directed the clip, which is being serviced to video channels now.  Mower singer Brian Sheerin had this to say about the video shoot, “The “Road Rage” shoot was great, we invited Mikey (Doling-Not For You producer) and some friends to hang out and shoot the car chase scene.  What could be more fun than speeding around L.A. trying not to fly out of a convertible?”

Mower warms up for spring with a May 13 show with Staind in San Diego and then joins friends and labelmates (hed)p.e. and Wicked Wisdom for the “Back 2 Base X” tour beginning May 18th.  “We’re excited to get out and tour behind the new CD and we’ve known(hed) for years and were impressed by Wicked Wisdom this year, so we’re stoked to be out with them both.” Sheerin said.

Mower’s “Not For You” has been receiving great reviews, with every reviewer holding up a different song as their favorite.  The band expected this type

of reaction.  “We knew the reviews would be all over the place because the CD mixes punk, hardcore, metal, lounge and classic rock elements, but we’re surprised at some of the great things people have been saying about the disc.” Sheerin states.

Tour Dates are as follows:

See what the press is saying about Mower

“When you get up off the floor after having the shit scared out of you from the initial smack in the face from a sonic boom, then sit back and enjoy the most brutal mix of heavy metal, hardcore, gutteral screams, and machine gun riffs.” – Foundry Music

“Imagine a band that sounds like Ministry, old-school Megadeth, HIM, and Hatebreed mixed together and you’re getting close to what this band sounds like.” – The Music Edge

“This is without question one of 2006’s finest moments so far. If you have never heard this band before than stop reading this and get to your local record store and buy Not For You right now, don’t waste another minute.” – The Great Nothing

“Mower has surely delivered one of this year’s most brutal albums, and fans of hardcore metal will bang their heads against the wall to it for days.” – Pivotal Alliance

“An astounding record to be sure and one that will no doubt be remembered when we look back at the year in metal for 2006.” – East Coast Romper

“This lot produce a heady mix of punk, metal, and rock with hardcore vocals but do not necessarily fall into the metalcore genre. It would be unfair to lump them into that grouping of bands; they’re far more clever than that.” – Blogcritics.org

“Mower is about letting loose and enjoying good music, and if you can’t understand that, maybe it’s Not For You.” – Volume Magazine

DeadStar Assembly’s “Unsaved” to be released July 11th 2006 by PURE Records & The A Label

The violent industrial mayhem of DeadStar Assembly is about to set the anti-mainstream ablaze for a second arson with the release of their sophomore record, Unsaved. The troupe of musical avant-gardes has returned with 15 new tracks of sonic mastery and electronic combustion to deliver a testimonial of struggle, devotion and finally perseverance. Like demented seraphim, DSA’s poisonous blend of death-pop/industrial rock is inscribed with no apologies, and as heard on Unsaved, they don’t intend to start.

Unsaved was written, recorded, and sweated over as an entirely collaborative band effort. The album of chaotic synths and havoc-reeking melodies features all live instrumentation with additional electronic percussion and digital effects weaved amongst it. Produced by DSA themselves and Jeremy Staska (Poison the Well, New Found Glory, Remembering Never), Unsaved is a drastically personal album; ensuing the perfect combination of therapeutic lyricism, razorblade vocals striving to end cultural assimilation and surgically crafted melodies performed to bleed rather than stitch. It’s a middle finger to the mundane and a red light to ignite your inner deviance.

Tracks such as the commanding “Dejected” feature attention-demanding guitars, swirling synths and authoritative vocals that are determined to raise a de-generation of jaded and misguided to their spike-heeled feet. It’s having sex on an induced high and its wandering home alone through desolation as the sun is rising. The track “Pure Blue” could easily serve as the theme song for Unsaved, as its menacing guitars and powerful drum loops envelope into nightmarish choruses and sonic twists, provoking chills from the fear of the unknown. The song is entirely paralyzing in its fullness and angst-ridden lyrics, providing the anthem for an album laced with crimson substance. “Bled,” the smoky ballad of the album, masks the face of a monotonous society and acts as a tourniquet for the fresh wounds cut as a result of it. As singer Dearborn screams, “I am more than nothing.”

DeadStar Assembly sold over 10,000 units of their self-titled debut album independently and gained the respect and loyalty of South Florida’s underground music scene with such soul scorching hits as “Normal,” “Breathe for Me” and the completely innovative cover of “Send Me an Angel.” With the help of PURE Records in the United States and Berlin’s The A Label, DSA are ready to further infect the globe with Unsaved.

Unsaved is set for a July 11th release in the United States on PURE Records (RED Distribution) and a late May/early June release in Europe via The A Label, but DSA plan to spread their musical delirium to the masses right now. The band just wrapped up a US tour in March and April with Canadian industrial heavy hitters, The Birthday Massacre, followed by more dates with the release of Unsaved.

STREET TALK – REUNITED FOR A BRAND NEW ALBUM!

“In January 2005, exactly one year after the release of the compilation album “Destination”, which was supposed to be the final release by STREET TALK, I decided to compose music for a possible new Street Talk studio album. I made the decision to start writing after receiving some amazing feedback from fans around the world who wanted Street Talk to continue! Within a couple of months the music for around 15 songs was written and after speaking to vocalist and writing partner Goran Edman and guitar wiz Sven Larsson the decision was made to revive Street Talk!”

Edman says: “I’m really looking forward to the new album. This time things will have the chance to grow in my own garden so to speak. More time spent on arrangements and time to live with the songs as they develop in my homestudio before the final mix. From experience this have proved to be a good recipe for making a fine stew with XsavioR fresh in mind.”

Bergh continues: “I’m very excited about working on a brand new album together with those great cats! I’m sure this will be our best album ever as I feel that the material is very strong and the production is going to be absolutely top notch as we’re recording the album in the improved Studio Soundcreation.”

The line up is the same as on the “Restoration” album: Goran Edman-Vocals, Fredrik Bergh-Keyboards, Sven Larsson-Guitars, Bjorn Lodmark-Bass, Christian Johansson-Drums.

Tracklist:
01. RESPONSIBLE
02. DON’T BELIEVE
03. IF I COULD
04. AT THE END OF THE DAY
05. FAMILY BUSINESS
06. JUST A LITTLE APPETIZER
07. SOMETHING’S GOTTA GIVE
08. GROUNDHOG DAY
09. SNIPER
10. OH MADDY
11. BROTHER SUN AND SISTER MOON
