Wacken Open Air in 2002 suffered from some unpleasant setbacks and a
real mud inferno caused by the thunderous weather conditions. The area had
turned out to be one hell of a mud field and a real survival game for the
festival's attendance during the whole weekend (despite the sun shining
more and more and hay had been carried to cover the worst mud places). If
the weather conditions were more inhuman than human last year, so the
weather of this year was like that from another planet. Getting extra
drinks every 15 minutes, having an ice cold shower to feel better and more
comfortable, and sunglasses were the main things to survive thru the
hotter than hell heavy metal inferno as the temperature was in the 30+ Celsius
degree range all the time!
The Wacken festival is an excellent place to catch several bands in
action which can never be testified elsewhere in terms of some reunions
and surprise appearances by some certain bands and of course meet friends
and above all new faces from all around the world that you have known and
been contact with for years. Of course Metal-Rules.com teams were present
at the festival area to testify several great bands and meet several great
people. Here is once again a brief article of what happened there…
Enjoy!!!
