  Added Friday, May 16
Added By:
EvilG

Jordanian dark oriental metallers BILOCATE have unveiled the cover artwork for their forthcoming album, "Sudden Death Syndrome", at this location. (Click here to open link) The artwork was designed by Dennis Sibeijn, who has previously worked with such bands as DRACONIAN, CHIMAIRA and ABORTED.

Commented vocalist Ramzi Essayed: "During the mixing stage, we were working in parallel together with Dennis on the artwork idea and layout. It's ready now with the magnificent work of Dennis. He truly reflected the album spirit and concepts. A special thanks to him from BILOCATE for his efforts and support."

"Sudden Death Syndrome" was mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studio in Sweden with producer Jens Bogren (OPETH, KATATONIA, BLOODBATH, AMON AMARTH, SYMPHONY X, PARADISE LOST)

The track listing for the effort is as follows:

01. Humans And The Dark Affiliation
02. Blooded Forest
03. The Dead Sea
04. Ebtehal
05. Inoculate
06. Pure Wicked Sins
07. The Stone of Hate

The song "The Dead Sea" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. (Click here to open link)

Bogren previously stated about BILOCATE: "BILOCATE takes the qualities from the best epic death metal bands and blend it with their very own Middle Eastern touch, and out comes one of the most interesting metal bands I've heard for a long time You can hear that they put effort and thought in to every note and every scream!"

BILOCATE's Ramzi Essayed recorded the vocals for the new CD at the In the Mix studios with Nash Planojevic, who is known for his work as a monitor engineer for IRON MAIDEN and SAXON.

Stated Nash: "Refreshing, promising and definitely most tight project I ever done so far here in Dubai. On the other hand definitely most demanding task, guys know exactly what they want and that's the way to be!!! Looking forward together with Jens and guys from BILOCATE to open new horizons for the music coming from the region, and proof the fact that the good music lays deep down under the remains of Petra and sand dunes of futuristic Dubai!"

On Other news, BILOCATE Revealed their new Logo which has been created by Christophe Szpajdel Known as "The Lord of Logos", best recognized by his great work for bands such as (Emperor, Enthroned, Moonspell, Old man's child, Borknagar & many others).

BILOCATE would like to give their gratitude to Christphe for his Outstanding work & efforts in creating BILOCATE's new great logo.

Ramzi Essayed (Vocalist) commented:

"it was a challenge for the band to have our vision & music translated into a single identity in front of the music world but working with such a talented, creative & amazing artist like Christphe made it happen, A true lord of logos indeed. A humble artist which I never dealt with such before...special thanks from me & Bilocate members to Christophe".

Christophe commented on BILOCATE:

"This is one of the most original band I came across, providing me an enriching experience in my entire career as I am currently working on their logo. You can see three Bilocate logos on my gallery now. Amazing mixture of dark oriental metal with hints of death and black metal elegantly melt into each other.... What a shame this band was so underrated....this band is a gem and so nice people I would work for indefinitely."

REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE - Timo Tolkki Announces Singer

  Added Wednesday, May 14
Added By:
EvilG

"I'm writing this from Hong Kong overlooking the amazing bay. It is a great pleasure to announce the new singer of REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE I have chosen from over 400 vocalists that sent me their MP3s. Thank you so much for sending all those...all together I have received over 1500 applications and I have listened through them all. I am sorry for those who were not chosen, but I can tell you that you should NEVER give up. Follow your heart and you will get there eventually. Don't think about money or success, think about your art, the money comes by itself, not the other way around.

So here is the man himself, with his own words:

Hi there, everyone!!

My name is Gus Monsanto. I am a 33-year old metal singer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I am really glad to announce I have been chosen amongst a bunch of talented beasts to front REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE. The band is going to be an amazing experience and the album New Era totally kicked my ass when Timo sent it to me.
I have been on a beautiful journey making music since I started playing the guitar age 10. Ups, downs, ins, outs & but this infatuation keeps coming back and you're more and more into it. There's a lot more about me in (Click here to open link)

In brief: the last four years of my life were spent fronting the metal band ADAGIO. We played all over the world, did the Dominate album and it was a great learning experience for me. Lately, I have also replaced Jeff Scott Soto, one of the best singers in business, in TAKARA. Two days after Adagio and I parted ways, I got this great message from Timo and the rest is history in the making.

Timo used to be surrounded by a great band that made history. I am aware of the responsibility. I am aware of the fans. Rest assured: we will kill. He's got all my respect, since he didn't take the easy way, which would be using the old bands name. Personally, I even had the mega pleasure of introducing Bruno Agra, one of my best friends and kick ass drummer extraordinaire to Timo and Revolution Renaissance, which makes it even more special.

Hope to see all of you really soon. Think about the words. Revolution. Renaissance. Look deep within their meanings.

Best,GUS

In Gus I have found everything I look for a singer. He is a real world citizen and a soul-mate. We all feel this connection and that we did not arrive crossing each other's paths by accident. Gus has a very versatile voice, amazing range and no accent and he can sing in many different styles yet he has a very recognizable voice. His pictures are in Revolution Renaissance folder. Now the only remaining thing is to find the bass player who fits into this team that is multinational, but spirituality doesn't know any nationalities. It's been over two years since I wrote the songs for New Era and because the first album was kind of a special one, we want to make our first real album together soon, so we will enter the studio already in this August to record the new album. We are very excited and full of good and positive energy. We don't know when the album will come out, but probably already January 2009 followed by a massive world tour where we will of course play all the biggest Stratovarius hits and few less played as well and material from the two RR albums. We will also be doing a massive South American tour in December this year just to have some fun and present ourselves to the fans.

So here it is ladies and gentlemen: THE REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN!!!!"

The group are currently turning heads across the country as part of the “Metal For The Masses” tour alongside some of the Century Media family’s hottest new acts including As Blood Runs Black, Winds of Plague, The Ghost Inside (on select dates) and Veil of Maya. I feel like there's something for everyone on Comes >From The Heart. Right now we're on the final stretch of the ‘Metal For The Masses’ tour. Manifest - Find A New Place CD - OUT NOW

  Added Tuesday, May 13
Added By:
EvilG

Bobby Hicks joined this Baltimore, Maryland, US based band on 1994, one year after his leaving from the Gods Mystic Force. In 1995 they originally released the tape “Yes Or No” in 1000 copies with CD edition to follow in another 1000 copies some months later. Both editions sold out very quickly and this treasure remained buried into dust until today. Moreover the band split in 1999 and their signs were completely lost until Arkeyn Steel brings them back in the light of the day. Do not miss the chance to grab this anthem that will be re pressed for last time on 1000 hand numbered CDs. As bonus on the 6 tracks included in the original there are 2 pre-production rehearsal tracks from 1998, so we got 8 tracks in total and more than 45 minutes of melodic, Power / Prog Steel in the vein of Mystic Force / Queensryche / Lethal / Sacred Warrior. It comes digitally mastered from the original master tapes, in completely new artwork by Kostas Athanasoglou plus booklet with lyrics, unreleased photo and info as well. This is THE must for all the fans of the bands mentioned and everyone into high quality, shinning US Steel. NO re–pressings!

COMA CLINIC is here

  Added Tuesday, May 13
Added By:
EvilG

Coma Clinic from Finland is a new band from Misery Inc.´s mastermind Janne Tolonen (ex- Profane Omen). Even though the songs for this new project came to birth pretty naturally, results are nothing alike compared to his other band. This is something totally different. Anyway, anyone even little familiar with Tolonen´s outputs knows that catchy stuff can be expected.

The first product from Coma Clinic is promotional CD containing three songs. It introduces you an fearless assembly, not being afraid to break some boundaries. In this formula modern trash-metal meets overflowing melodies and the intensity of hardcore.

Two years ago Tolonen and vocalist Henri Eerola (recently known from his work in Pentatonik) decided to start co-operation according some new kind of madness. Collaboration finally took place this spring, and the first results of solid understanding between this duo can now be heard. All the guitar solos we´re played by young, promising guitarhero Kimi Rautiainen (plays also in Exsecratus).

All three songs are now online at band´s MySpace (Click here to open link)

Gorgoroth DVD - preview available on YouTube!

  Added Monday, May 12
Added By:
EvilG

As previously announced Metal Mind Productions will release first ever Gorgoroth's DVD. “Black Mass Krakow 2004” DVD with their spectacular show recorded in Krakow, Poland will finally see the light of day on 9th June in Europe and 10th June in US (via MVD).

Gorgoroth, Norwegian black metal band, drew the attention of the international media in early 2004 after their show in Krakow. They were accused of "offending religious feelings" during the gig, as well as suspected of breaching Polish law concerning the protection of animal rights by using severed and impaled heads of sheep as part of their stage design. The controversial concert in Poland resulted in the group being investigated for the possible breach of Article 196 of Polish penal code concerning offense of religious feelings (the maximum penalty for breaching this article is five years in prison). In one of the band's first interviews after this controversial concert, Infernus said to Unrestrained! Magazine (Canada): "We didn't plan to really have an outcome like that, our only intent was to go there and film the DVD (...) All the chaos and media reaction that came from this was a surprise of sorts." Asked if they "were (...) worried when the authorities were called" Infernus answered: "Not worried, really. I mean, what was the worst thing they could do? Destroy the tapes? I don't think they would do that and I don't think they could really do any harm to us, though they might be able to put the Polish producer away in prison for a few years. For us, this will probably help us sell a few more records.(…) As of now, I can only think that the DVD will be put out eventually. (…) It would be almost like they are stuck in the Middle Ages in Poland if they destroyed the tapes by burning them. I hope to get them back one day… I hope."

Krakow’s show is the main feature of the “Black Mass Krakow 2004” DVD. Additionally, it includes bonus video material - Live at With Full Force Festival, Leipzig, 2000 (tracks: 1. Destroyer, 2. Incipit Satan), biography, discography, photo gallery, desktop images, weblinks, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and more!!!! DVD will be available in two versions: as a standard DVD and as a very unique star metalpack DVD edition limited to 5000 copies!

JOB FOR A COWBOY To Re-Release "DOOM" E.P. On June 10th

  Added Sunday, May 11
Added By:
Lord of the Wasteland

JOB FOR A COWOBY (Arizona) will be releasing their critically acclaimed EP “DOOM” on June 10/08! This will be the first time DOOM is available nationally at all Canadian retail outlets.

In December, 2005, JOB FOR A COWBOY released the “DOOM” EP. The band spent months of preparation in order to record “the most powerful set of songs they could”. Consisting of six tracks of the band’s punishing hybrid of grindcore and death metal, the EP became a launching pad that would rocket the band to new heights of popularity within the underground music world. Stellar tracks such as “Entombment of Machine”, “Knee Deep” and “The Rising Tide” quickly became live favourites and the band stepped up the frequency of their gigs in order to satisfy what had grown into an enormous legion of devoted followers.

The band has just finished a very successful east coast run (in US and Canada) on Gigantour and heading out west, playing their first western date in Winnipeg, MB on May 10/08 @ The Convention Center. Most of the Gigantour dates have either sold out in advanced or selling out day of and the band could not be happier to be a part of such a great tour! They are so appreciative of the fans who come early to see them play (2nd on bill) especially the Toronto, Ontario fans who started an impromptu gang song of Happy Birthday to Johnny (singer) after finding out it was his birthday.

GOREROTTED Shorten Band's Name To THE ROTTED

Lord of the Wasteland

The UK's GOREROTTED have decided to take a big step and change their name to THE ROTTED! After working so hard on their new album, 'Get Dead Or Die Trying', the guys felt that due to the huge progression they've made from previous releases musically and lyrically, and after a few line-up changes, that this was the only right thing to do.

Says frontman Ben McCrow: "The motives behind what we were doing with Gorerotted have changed over the years, and as a mark of respect for what we achieved, for previous band members and for fans, we didn't feel it was right to continue under our previous monicker. This album is gonna blow people away, I couldn't even classify it for you if I tried, all I can say is its heavy as fuck, catchy as hell and a piece of work we're all incredibly proud of. People have been affectionately referring to us as THE ROTTED for some time now, so it seemed like a decent change to us."

THE ROTTED has launched a new myspace site which can be found HERE. Add them to your friends list and make sure to spread the word. Be the first to learn about news, exclusive tracks from the new album, tour dates and much more! IN THIS MOMENT Vocalist Lands on Cover of New Issue of INKED

  Added Sunday, May 11
Added By:
Lord of the Wasteland

IN THIS MOMENT vocalist, Maria Brink, is currently featured on the cover of Inked Magazine’s Music Issue, which can be found on stands now. The singer opened up her heart and soul to the magazine, which resulted in a massive 6-page cover feature. The in-depth feature covers her life story including her troubled past and how she overcame all obstacles to live her dream. The stunning photoshoot also portrays Maria in a way you never seen before making this an issue not to be missed. Click on the link below for a special sneak preview.

Maria Brink further comments on the whole experience: “I recently did a photo shoot for Inked Magazine and I had a blast doing so. I was a bit nervous at first because it was an editorial and I wouldn’t be picking out my own clothing or my own makeup, but what they ended up doing was so much fun and it wound up being amazing! I’m a very assertive person when it comes to what I want and what I want to look like but sometimes when you just let someone else take the wheel and drive you can wind up with a great surprise in the end. It could have potentially been a disaster, but it turned out perfect.

“The Inked crew was great to work with and I am so happy to be on the cover, as well as be a part of such a killer magazine. I am so very satisfied how tasteful the pictures turned out and how professional the whole staff was. I did an extensive interview for the inside layout as well. I was a bit nervous about it because the questions got very personal, but I went with it and answered everything honestly. The writer did a great job delivering my personal life story. I would like to thank Inked Magazine for having me on board. I am still smiling and very excited to have my first magazine cover, it turned out just right.”

Inked Magazine have also setup a special promotional code for new subscribers. The discounted code will be "brinkt", which gets you a free t-shirt and $29.95 for 10 issues of Inked. The other discount code is "moment", which offers $19.95 for 10 issues of Inked. All you have to do is log onto (Click here to open link) then subscribe and put in "brinkt" or "moment" as the promo code depending on which offer you would like.

ABORTED Post Two New Songs; Prepare For Summer Slaughte Tour

  Added Sunday, May 11
Added By:
Lord of the Wasteland

Mankind’s sense for creativity probably manifests best in the sheer unlimited ways of torturing, mutilating, and killing each other. Successfully applying this atrocious inventiveness to their perversely precise sonic executions, European death metal butchers, ABORTED, with members hailing from Belgium, France and the UK have refined and re-defined the tools of their trade on their sixth full-length, Strychnine.213, to murder the listener with unimaginably gruesome, shockingly diverse brutality. The album’s much anticipated North American release is set for June 24th, just as the band embarks on this year’s Summer Slaughter tour. Be sure to check out (Click here to open link) for their complete itinerary.

Besides the macabre cover artwork by Colin Marks, ABORTED now present you two new songs from their stunning follow-up to 2007’s much-lauded Century Media offering, Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture, at their revamped MySpace site. “I35” demonstrates how ABORTED have successfully increased the modern, darker and surprisingly dynamic and melodic elements of their sound, whereas “Pestiferous Subterfuge” is another brutal groove laden assault. Listen to them now at (Click here to open link)

Combining the band’s undeniable live energy with a powerhouse production from Eric Rachel (The Red Chord, The Black Dahlia Murder, God Forbid) and a much needed diversified approach to the overly edited, sterile sounding death metal records of today, ABORTED succeed in retaining their vicious roots while evolving in terms of melody, musical virtuosity and vigor.

Strychnine.213 reinforces the notion that ABORTED have doubtlessly developed into extreme metal’s most promising new breed.

BLEED THE SKY Announce New CD Details

  Added Sunday, May 11
Added By:
Lord of the Wasteland

Murder The Dance, the sophomore album for Oklahoma City’s BLEED THE SKY, is set for release in North America on June 10th. The track listing is as follows:

01. Knife Fight In A Phone Booth
02. Sullivan
03. Murder The Dance
04. The Sleeping Beauty
05. Morose
06. Occam’s Razor
07. Bastion
08. Slavior
09. Kettle Black
10. Poseidon
11. The Demons That Could Be
12. Vertical Smile

Produced and engineered by Christian Olde Wolbers, mixed by Ben Schigel at Spider Studios, and mastered by Matt Rosebery at Skin Deep Studios, BLEED THE SKY lead vocalist Noah Robinson gives a little insight into the recording process:

“Our inspiration for this album was listening to all the stuff we grew up on. During every part of this recording, we had some sort of drink in our hand. We wanted to be relaxed and comfortable. We're finally putting out the record that nearly killed us. This is exactly what we wanted to do from the beginning, but we just weren't really sure how. We wanted to make the end-all, be-all record, and I think we accomplished that. Everything on this album is blood, sweat, and tears, even the hidden track. The first part of it are voicemails that somebody left us, and the second part was kind of last minute. When you hear it, you can tell. It was played on Quincy Jones’ piano at Westlake Studios in Beverly Hills. Bottom line, we can't wait to hit the road again and show everyone the new BLEED THE SKY!!! ”

Justin Warrick, formerly of the Southern California band Rev, recently joined the band’s ranks as their rhythm and lead guitarist. BLEED THE SKY’s new line-up is:

Noah Robinson – Vocals
Ryan Clark – Bass
Rob Thornton – Rhythm & Lead Guitar
Justin Warrick - Rhythm & Lead Guitar
Austin D’Amond - Drums

The band just shot a video in their hometown for the track “Sullivan” with acclaimed video director David Brodsky (Hate Eternal, The Red Chord, Soilent Green) of MyGoodEye. Noah confesses:

“David beat us into the ground. We only took half the amount of time to do it compared to our first video for ‘Minion’ in 2005. He’s an AMAZING director. He’s got a great eye and really knows how to work with minimal lighting. He was RELENTLESS in getting the best performance out of us. It was awesome, though. We brought over our barbeque and a shitload of beer and whisky at 8 a.m., which helped us recover from headbanging like maniacs first thing in the morning without even stretching.”

Heavy metal heroes LAMB OF GOD are proud to announce the release of an all-new, 2-disc DVD on July 1, 2008. ‘Walk With Me In Hell’ is a documentary chronicling every detail in the lives of the biggest band in metal as they completed recording and toured around the world nearly three times over in support of the biggest selling metal album of 2007, the Grammy-nominated, Top 10 charting, Sacrament.

Fans can check out an EXCLUSIVE trailer for ‘Walk With Me In Hell’ at www.myspace.com/metal as well as the band’s official MySpace page, (Click here to open link)

The ‘Walk With Me In Hell’ two DVD set features over five hours of incredible, all-access footage. Disc 1 contains the highly anticipated feature documentary ‘Walk With Me In Hell’ and multiple live performance extras from across the globe on the Sacrament World Tour. Disc 2 includes the additional full-length feature “Making of Sacrament” plus LAMB OF GOD’s entire, uncut, brutal performance at the Download Festival 2007, where they performed in front of over 72,000 fans. Extras include deleted scenes, live performance videos for various tour stops, the official music video for “Redneck,” and a “Making of Redneck” documentary.

“We're on stage for 90 minutes a day,” says drummer Chris Adler. “People want to know what's going on for the other 22 and 1/2 hours. It's not always limousines and champagne. Killadelphia surprised a lot of people and proved that we refuse to censor or hold anything back. True to the high standard that we hold ourselves to, ‘Walk With Me In Hell’ is unlike any music DVD I’ve ever seen. This is an entire new level of documentary taking you on an intense, worldwide journey with us.”

‘Walk With Me In Hell’ features all-access footage from the bus to the stage and everything in between, and like the band’s unrelenting music, never lets up.

“Walk With Me In Hell is a very proud moment for us as a band. It’s hard to comprehend the pain and glory when you’re in the middle of it, but looking back over the past two years we can begin to understand how huge this record and touring cycle was,” says Adler. “It shows the blood shed and what it takes to not only hold our own, but succeed in the face of every obstacle in front of us. We have never offered less than our best, our fans expect and deserve it, and this DVD will serve as a landmark for all that follow.”

‘Walk With Me In Hell’ hits streets July 1, 2008 on Epic Records.

‘Walk With Me In Hell’ was directed by Doug Spangenberg, who has also directed the platinum awarded Killadelphia DVD, plus Lamb Of God’s first DVD, Terror and Hubris.

KAMELOT Ask Fans To Vote For "Opera Rock Show Treatment" Next Year
Posted on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at 05:38:50 EST

KAMELOT have issued the following update:

"The Opera Rock Show in Hungary are doing a poll as to which artist should get the Opera Rock Show treatment in Hungary next. THERION have done it, it's EPICA's turn now (Oliver Palotai is arranging the orchestra parts).

Vote Kamelot for next year at this location." (Click here to open link)

Thanks,
Kamelot

As previously reported, Epica will play a special show under the banner Classical Conspiracy on June 14th at Miskolc International Opera Festival in Hungary. The band will perform classical pieces from Mozart, Dvorak, Verdi, Orff, Prokofiev, Grieg, Vivaldi and symphonic versions of their own songs. Kamelot keyboardist has taken part in arranging Epica's songs for symphonic orchestration. The following is an excerpt from an interview with the event organizers:

Q: What do you think about Opera-Rock Show, where metal bands can play with orchestra and choir?

Oliver: "I’ve participated and arranged already before for similar shows. When it’s done well it can give the music of a band a surprising twist and present it in a new and unusual way. But I must also say that I’ve heard bands with symphonic orchestras where that concept was worked out pretty dull."

Q: Do you like this style, symphonic metal?

Oliver: "I like certain bands out of this genre. Of course not all of them. If it’s getting too bombastic it’s usually not my cup of tea."

Q: How do you make the scores for the orchestra and the choir? Please describe your creative process from the first step to the last one.

Oliver: "Before I begin with the first song I prepare a kind of master document based on the instrumentation of the orchestra. Then my work depends if I am hired as an arranger or notator or both. In both cases I import any available data- for example MIDI files - into my notation software. Most bands don’t have the financial possibilities to record with real instruments – they use samples and you need a certain procedure to work with those samples – called MIDI. Then the real work begins. I go note by note through every score, every instrument, add dynamic- and articulation signs, I correct pitches and mistakes. Sometimes I create new parts for instruments when I have the feeling the music needs it. For this kind of work you need to know exactly how every instrument works. Naturally I can’t play every instrument – in my life so far I’ve learned piano, guitar and bass, in the past I played flutes and the violin. The rest I had to study using books and talking to instrumentalists."

I thought I would never utter these words again but here they are - Exhorder is officially back in business!. Hmmmm, that shit sounded good. After tossing this around for quite some time we actually just decided to do this less than a week ago so at this time we have no real direction on what we want to do as far as shows, tours, albums etc. As of right now the first step is to get a new bass player and get back to rehearsing (Sparcello is currently incarcerated). This will probably be a slow process and you've waited a long time already but your patience will be rewarded and as you already know we never disappoint.??I don't like the word "fan". Never have. Exhorder never did have fans. Instead you've all been friends and family in our eyes and me and the rest of the guys would like to thank all of you for keeping us in your hearts for all these years. It is for and because of YOU that we do this again! Now enough of all this sentimental bullshit, we got work to do, we'll keep you posted.??Buckle up mutha fuckas... were back!"
