The Metal Revolution has begun!!!! Patton has taken the metal
torch and has rolled out the heavy weapons on their campaign to bring good
old fashioned head banging metal to the masses. They are waging a battle
that consumes their spirit to the point that they have named their band
after one of the greatest generals in the history of the United States.
General Patton rose from an illiterate 12 year old to become one of the
greatest military minds that the United Sates has seen. A man who was at
home on the battle field, his abrasive personality often worked to his
detriment in political matters. If ever there was a namesake for a band,
Patton fits this group to a T. Their abrasive style and no nonsense
approach to metal is sure to help them thunder through the ranks of the
metal world on their march to the top.
Formed by guitarist and vocalist Jason Felger and bassist Bob Watson,
Patton rose from the ashes of another great band called Steamroller. They
struck out on their own and put together Patton with former Steamroller
drummer Rich Scheidt. The bands influences include Judas Priest, Megadeth,
Van Halen, Annihilator and Alice Cooper among others. A very interesting
mix that was sure to mesh into a distinctive sound for the band. In 2000
they released the CD "War Declared", a hard rockin' metal romp
that contained 11 tracks including "Patton March", "Mind
Control", "Volcano" and "War Declared." "War
Declared" was only a taste of things to come as Patton set to work on
their next CD. After 2 years of blood, sweat and beers Patton unleashed
the album entitled METAL upon the masses. Released on Silver Bullet
Records out of Las Vegas, METAL is a more aggressive, skull crushing
version of the Patton sound. The title track and "Smoking Like the
Devil" sees Patton head in a darker, heavier direction that should
set an evil glow alight in the heart of any metalhead.
