Prairie Sun in Cotati CA. with Uwe Lulis (guitar) from Grave Digger handling
the production. Chris Boltendahl (vocals) from Grave Digger will also be on
hand for back up vocals. The band plan on recording 14 songs with 10-12

"Atrocity", "It Burns", "Eternal",
"Annihilate", "Darkness Has Come", "L.F.D.","My
Dominion", "Demonite" and "Fade Away".
Expect Imagika to stick to their Thrash roots with what promises to be
their fastest, heaviest record to date. A release date is still in the
works as the band and their management work out a label for North America
and Europe. For additional info you can check out the Imagika site at www.imagikametal.com.
Introduction
If I had to pick one band in America
today that deserves a break
it would be IMAGIKA. After reviewing all their releases to date and interviewing
their guitarist I felt it would only make sense to finally make them a
"Featured Artist" here at Metal Rules!!
Biography
Imagika were formed in 1994 by David Michael (vocals) and Steven D. Rice
(guitars) through an advertisement in a SF Bay-area music paper, the duo then recruited drummer Henry Moreno
(drums) and recorded a three-song demo the same year. Bassist Michael Dargis joined the band shortly thereafter as a second guitarist, but made the change to bass before the band's first live show. After numerous live appearances playing with such bands as Vicious Rumors, Forbidden, Machine Head, etc., the band recorded their debut CD in
late '95 and released it in early '96 on Headless Corpse Records. IMAGIKA'S debut was heralded in the underground with worldwide exposure in the press, radio and the internet. IMAGIKA was also chosen by BAM magazine as one of the best unsigned bands. Due to extensive European exposure, CLM/A-B-S Records licensed the CD and released it in Europe in August '97. The band then signed a worldwide management and publishing deal with Flying Dolphin in January '98. Their
newest CD "WORSHIP" was recorded and the band signed a new deal with Headless Corpse Records who released the CD in October '98.
What's New?
An update to the above information was given to us by
Imagika's Steven Rice. Read this updated bio to find out what's new with
the band.
Direct From Imagika:
As you know the band was formed in 1994 and we released our first 3-song demo the same year to help facilitate getting gigs in the local area. After establishing a local following we released our self titled CD in late '95 to a lot of underground response and sold in excess of 3000 copies through word of mouth and the Internet etc. We again hit the live local circuit this time getting a chance to play with some of the bigger Bay Area Metal acts. By '96 we had licensed the CD to a-b-s Records in Germany for European distribution.
In '97 we attracted the attention of Flying Dolphin Promotions and signed a management and publishing deal. We then went into production for our "Worship" CD and released it by the fall of '98 through our own Headless Corpse label and had it distributed through Radiation/Indigo in Europe. The band received numerous press and radio exposure from this release and followed it up with a 10 date German tour opening for
Grave Digger and Iron Savior where we got a chance to play to well over 5000 fans.
Imagika have currently finished a new 3-song demo to hopefully secure a proper deal in North America and hope to complete
their new CD "… AND SO IT
BURNS" by the end of this year.
