Calgary, Alberta (Updated September 4, 2012). Scarab Productions is adding the final guest speakers and panelists to the third installment of the NOCTIS METAL MUSIC CONFERENCE, being held Friday Sept. 28, 2012 and Saturday Sept. 29, 2012 at the Ramada Hotel, downtown Calgary. The conference is attached to the Noctis V Metal Fest  and will include a special guest appearances and live interviews with Venom front-man and black-metal legend, CRONOS as well as two of the world’s most prominent music journalists, JOEL MCIVER and MARTIN POPOFF.  Also set to appear will be Gorguts front-man, LUC LEMAY; founder and guitarist of Manilla Road MARK SHELTON, and CHUCK KELLER, guitarist of Ares Kingdom. Joining the conference to discuss the business side of the industry will be label heads CHRIS BRUNI from Profound Lore, GORDON CONRAD from Season of Mist and CLAY MARSHALL from Prosthetic Records. Also featured will be entertainment lawyer and former manager of Death, ERIC GRIEF, and MARTIN ATKINS, author of BandSmart and TourSmart, along with CEO of Ultimate Music Cruises, ANDY PILLER.  Popular culture professor at Bowling Green University, DR. MATT DONAHUE will discuss his research on the metal T-shirt, marking the first year that the Noctis Conference will have a section on metal scholarship, moderated by SARAH KITTERINGHAM, a journalist and metal scholar herself. To round out the diverse interests of the musicians and fans who will be attending the conference sessions will be panellists ADRIEN BEGRAND who helms the Headbang blog at MSN, MARK HOWITT, of Archaic North Productions and JON ASHER of Asher Media Relations, SUSAN BULLEN, manager of Simmons/Universal artists Kobra the Lotus, MIRA BORN, photographer for, SASHA LASKOW and TOMISLAV CRNCKOVIC of Perfect Fifth Studios, and more.  The event includes a beer and cheese welcome on Friday and  a Heavy Metal Breakfast on Saturday morning.
