It’s the tour that Canadian metal fans have been waiting for.

3 Inches of Blood and Cancer Bats, two of Canada’s biggest, most brutal and unrelenting metal bands, will be embarking on a month-long Canadian trek in May, kicking things off in Brandon, MB on May 4 and wrapping up in Victoria, BC on May 29.

3IOB vocalist Cam Pipes states: “This is the kind of Canadian tour that we were meant to do. Cancer Bats are a like-minded band that we’ve talked about touring with for quite a while and we’re very glad it’s finally happening. Canada is a stronghold of metal fans that both bands step up their game for.  All the cards are in place to make this an epic tour.”

3 Inches of Blood fans can also look forward to a brand new EP which the band will release via Century Media Records, just in time for the upcoming May tour…more details coming soon.  In addition, the band has been nominated for a 2011 Indie award for “Metal Artist/Group Of The Year”. The 11th Annual Independent Music Awards – “The Indies” – is Canadian Music Week’s closing party, taking place on Saturday March 12, 2011 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

Born out of a love for pure metal, weaned on a diet of fantasy and mythology, Vancouver’s 3 Inches of Blood are one of the biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal and have been slaying the infidel for nearly a decade.  In that time, they’ve released three albums and splattered the ground with crimson streaks while on tour with such acclaimed acts as Satyricon, The Black Dahlia Murder, Motorhead and Cradle of Filth, to name a few.  The band’s latest album, the monumental Here Waits Thy Doom (September 8, 2009, Century Media) has set the standard for new heavy metal.

3IOB just completed a hugely successful North American tour this February alongside Eluveitie, Holy Grail and System Divide.   The band is also gearing up for two performances at the 2011 Manitoba Metalfest, before hitting the road in May for what is sure to be one of Canada’s most memorable metal tours to date.
