Guitarists Ivar Bjørnson and Ice Dale of the Norwegian progressive/psychedelic black metal band ENSLAVED are featured on Page 23 of the February 2011 issue of Guitar World, on newsstands now.

“With [Axioma Ethica Odini], we wanted to get as close to our live sound as possible: urgent, upbeat and in your face,” says ENSLAVED founding guitarist and main songwriter Ivar Bjørnson to journalist Henry Yuan.  “This approach actually ended up leaving an open field for the more melodic and progressive parts, and, in a way, helped crystallize them.”

More information on the February 2011 issue of Guitar World is available here.

ENSLAVED latest release, Axioma Ethica Odini, won the Terrorizer Reader’s Poll for “Best Album of 2010,” ranked #5 in Decibel Magazine’s “Top 40 Extreme Albums of 2010” list, and appeared on over 65 “Best Albums of 2010” lists in North America, repeatedly ranking in the Top 10.  It also debuted at #16 on the Billboard Heatseekers (New Artists) chart, #40 in the Current Hard Music Albums chart, and #72 on the Independent Current Albums chart the week following its release.
