ABOUT THE BAND
Broken Mirrors are:
Francois – Guitars/Vocals
Florian – Guitar
Van – Keyboards
Guillaume – Bass
Julien – Drums
Broken Mirrors was formed in 2007, the brainchild of singer/guitarist François Guichard. François was joined by Guillaume Vidal as bass player, Van Eymery as keyboard player, Florian Didier as guitarist and Loïc Depawe as drummer.
With a stable line up completed Broken Mirrors began working on four songs, which led to the recording of their debut E.P ‘Beyond the Mirrors’ in April 2008.
Broken Mirrors then began work on their debut album ‘Seven Years’. The band decided to re-record the four tracks that appeared on ‘Beyond The Mirrors’, all of which were written by François, and work on new songs that were written by François but also included songs by band members Van and Florian. The band spent several months of recording at the Wild Century Studio (FR) and a mastering session at the Finnvox Studio (FI) to complete the album. ‘Seven Years’ was released at the end of 2008 through Brennus Music.
2008 also saw Broken Mirrors perform some live dates in preparation of the band’s first French tour promoting the release of ‘Seven years’ that would take place in early 2009.
The 2009 ‘Seven Years Tour’ gives the band the opportunity to play the new material to their fans. On this tour they also meet Damien Bauer who joined the band as sound engineer.
In June 2009 the band parted ways with drummer Loïc due to musical creative differences. He replacement is Julien Racine whose arrival allows Broken Mirrors to begin writing new material for their follow up release.
Now 2010 sees the arrival of a new E.P ‘Strong Enough’ released digitally by Hunter’s Moon Records. Broken Mirrors have been touring extensively in 2010 in support of the E.P release and will continue to perform live in both France and other European countries in the coming months. Work will begin soon to record the second Broken Mirrors album, which will be released later this year.
