It’s been a rocky road for this Swedish hairspray band. They were flying high when they were signed to Sony Records as the first sleaze band in years. The sky seemed to be the limit but it all tumbled down when the band’s singer Dave Lepard was found dead in his apartment in 2006. The remaining three members decided to let the band die as well. However, the fans loved Crashdiet and their debut REST IN SLEAZE so much that the band eventually agreed to get back together and to record another album with a new singer. It so happened. A tour followed and again the band parted with their singer in 2008.

In the past two years, the band has auditioned a new singer, started a contest to find a new logo and has recorded the follow up to THE UNATTRACTIVE REVOLUTION. Having stayed together through all this, has certainly made the band stronger and GENERATION WILD is one strong piece of Swedish Sleaze Metal. The eleven songs are clearly influenced by bands like L.A. GUNS, Guns \’n\’ Roses and Tesla, with a bluesy and yet heavy edge to it. Just check out songs like “So Alive” or the catchy title track and you will float away straight into Sleaze Rock heaven. Still you should stay tuned and while songs like “Rebel” or “Down with the dust” push the pedal right down to the metal and get you all rocking and rolling, the best has been saved for last. The grand finale waits for you right at the end of the band’s third masterpiece: “Beautiful Pain” is a catchy power ballad with great melodies and some great grooves in it. Time to buckle up and get ready for a ride down memory lane – Crashdiet bring back the feeling and vibe of the late 80s/early 90s.

Are you armed and ready to become a member of the “Generation Wild”? I am!
