REPO!  The Genetic opera soundtrack also includes performances  by artists Richard Patrick (FILTER), Stephen Perkins (JANE’S ADDICTION), Clown (SLIPKNOT), Ray Luzier (KORN, ARMY OF ANYONE), Brian Young (DAVID LEE ROTH band), Richard Fortus (GUNS N’ ROSES), Sonny Moore (FIRST TO LAST), David J (BAUHAUS, LOVE AND ROCKETS), Daniel Ash (LOVE AND ROCKETS), Blasko (OZZY OSBORNE band), Tommy Clefetus (ROB ZOMBIE band), Melora Creager (RASPUTINA), and Rami Jaffee (WALLFLOWERS), Danny Saber (BUSTA RHYMES, SEAL) and solo artist Poe.

REPO! The Genetic Opera opens in select theaters November 7th.  On November 10th Repo takes to the road in a rapid cross country tour – check out for city listings and dates.

The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW franchise, REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA stage play). Darren Smith and Terrance Zdunich, co-creators of the original New York and Los Angeles stage production, wrote the film’s screenplay, music and lyrics. Smith composed, arranged, and performed the film’s score. Zdunich acts in the film. With more than 90 minutes of music and over 57 songs, REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA is reputed to have the most original music of any movie in film history!  REPO – The Genetic Rock Opera  – future rock opera cult- horror musical phenom whose cast and crew reclaim midnight.

….. Move over Richard O’ Brien (Rocky Horror)! Move over Jonathan Larson(Rent)! Move over Baz Lurhmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo+Juliet)!  REPO! The Genetic Opera  is here to take over! Getting  inside minds and satiating hunger that have been waiting since the releases of Rocky Horror and Tommy … REPO! The Genetic Opera is here to reclaim midnight!

“The music is the movie.  It defined everything.  I would put the music on my ipod and walk around and let it decide the shots – the look of the entire movie.  Music is a powerful thing, the most powerful thing.  Each of the songs in REPO is so different.  One second it’s Goth rock, the next it’s flat out opera.  So making the film stylized was a must.   I wanted each song to have its own feel visually.  Repo is something people haven’t seen before, it’s not a movie… It’s an event…” DARREN LYNN BOUSMAN, Director

“Choosing the players for the REPO! music was a lot like casting. Hours and hours of just listening and making notes about styles and ideas, then refining that into a wish list of who-to-play-on-what. With the massive volume of music involved here, there was a wide assortment of stylistic approaches that were all valid, just different from track to track – there’s no one genre ‘REPO!’ music falls into, but the signature became a spirit that runs through it all… basically an allowance to use anything, to record anything, from world class opera singers to vintage electronics and found instruments.” JOE BISHARA, Music Producer

REPO! The Genetic Opera -the film:

It’s the not-so-distant future.  Organ failure is rampant, and the company responsible for the transplants isn’t acting out of altruism. If someone misses a payment, Repo Men come to reclaim what belongs to the company. For his horror-infused movie opera, Bousman assembles a varied cast: SPY KIDS’ Alexa Vega, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER’s Anthony Stewart Head, horror legend Bill Moseley, Paris Hilton, Paul Sorvino, and singer Sarah Brightman. For the film, all of the actors perform their own songs!

This genre-bending 21st century opera features Nine Inch Nails-type industrial rock, Italian and German opera, girl-punk, Tom Waits-inspired cabaret, hip hop-flavored electronica, Asian pop, ballads, jazz, an absurdist techno Renaissance troubadour tune, as well as elements from more traditional musicals. Famed Japanese musician and composer Yoshiki from the legendary rock band X-JAPAN produced the music together with Joe Bishara.

Brian Wilson Announces "THAT LUCKY OLD SUN" U.S. Tour Dates

Brian Wilson announces a November tour to 11 U.S. cities, performing his new Capitol/EMI album, That Lucky Old Sun, in its entirety.  Wilson and his acclaimed band will also perform many of his classic hits at the special shows. The tour begins in Nashville on November 10 and will continue to 10 more cities, including New York, Chicago, Boston and Washington, DC, before ending in Westbury, NY on November 25.

On September 12, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and City Councilmembers Tom LaBonge and Jack Weiss honored Brian Wilson before a standing-room-only crowd at Los Angeles City Hall for his unique and unparalleled contributions to Los Angeles and California culture. Following several heartfelt speeches and some dancing in the chamber’s aisles to his sun-splashed hits, Wilson was presented with a special Brian Wilson Day proclamation by Mayor Villaraigosa and Councilmembers LaBonge and Weiss.

During a recent visit to the U.K., Wilson and four of his band members piled into a London cab with a camera crew for “Black Cab Sessions,” a one-take performance filmed en route through the city. To watch the entertaining video, visit

On October 10, NPR’s “World Café,” carried by nearly 200 public radio stations across the country, will premiere an exclusive performance by Wilson and his band, featuring a mix of songs from That Lucky Old Sun and classic hits. The program will also be available for streaming at

Brian Wilson is one of popular music’s most deeply revered figures, a legendary writer, producer, arranger and performer of some of the most cherished music in rock history. For his new album, Wilson has returned to Capitol Records/EMI, his original label home. Available now on CD, limited edition CD/DVD, digitally and limited edition 180-gram vinyl LP, That Lucky Old Sun has earned four-star rave reviews from top music magazines including Rolling Stone, Spin, MOJO, and Uncut, with Rolling Stone praising the album as “Brian’s strongest new work in years.”

A musical love letter from Southern California, That Lucky Old Sun shimmers with sun-dappled choruses and arrangements that swell and swirl as if carried by the Pacific tides.  The album is narrated in transitional interludes spoken by Wilson as ‘That Lucky Old Sun,’ the storyteller. The narratives, cameos on life and the heartbeat of Los Angeles, propel the album’s musical story.

The new release is the dawning of a new California morning for Brian Wilson, continuing the awe-inspiring concept album journey that he first began four decades ago. Wilson’s songwriting, arranging and producing talents came together in harmonious glory for The Beach Boys’ 1966 classic, Pet Sounds, and have continued to evolve during his solo career, highlighted by his 2004 critically acclaimed Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE. Lyrically and in Wilson’s incomparably lush, evocative arrangements, That Lucky Old Sun adds a new chapter to Wilson’s conceptual presentations.

For more information, visit, an interactive webpage devoted to the new album.

Following numerous nominations, Wilson won a well-deserved Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance (2004) for “Mrs. O’Leary’s Cow” and he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006. Last December, he was feted as a leading cultural icon by The Kennedy Center Honors alongside Diana Ross, Martin Scorsese, Steve Martin and Leon Fleisher.

Caamora – the story continues…

Caamora is currently working on their new release. The double album entitled “Journey’s End… an acoustic anthology” will feature over 130 minutes of acoustic live performances from around the world, as well as a selection of never before heard demos, bonus tracks and interview footage.

In the build up to the release of “She”, songwriter/keyboard player/singer Clive Nolan alongside singer Agnieszka Świta performed around 30 concerts in countries such as England, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Poland, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Canada. “Journey’s End…” will feature a collection of moments from these performances. These live tracks also feature some great guest appearances: familiar “She” faces such as Mark Westwood (guitar) and Christina Booth (voice), as well as new friends like Claudio Momberg from ‘SETI’ (keyboards) in Chile and Sebastian Medina from ‘William Gray’ (guitar) in Argentina

This double album is a great testament to all the musical journeys and experiences that Nolan and Swita enjoyed as they spread the word about “She”. Beyond the live material, there is also a collection of demos that were made over the past few years – interesting to see how the songs developed for their final versions on ‘She’. The bonus songs include a track that was never used in the end, and the specially written ‘Grunwald’, featuring cello from Hugh McDowell (ex ELO). Finally there is a short interview with Nolan and Swita, giving us a little more insight into the world of Caamora.

“Journey’s End… an acoustic anthology” is scheduled for release on 10th November 2008 in Europe and 25th November 2008 in USA (via MVD). This 2CD release is limited to 1000 copies!!!!

Innerpartysystem To Release Debut Album, Myspace Tour With 3OH!3

Self Titled Debut Album

Out 9/30/08

Innerpartysystem is four guys who were reared in the bleak small towns that surround Reading, Pennsylvania. The weathered houses, rusted factories and sprawling farms make this the landscape of true America. These environments are stark and mechanical, and they are pregnant with dark and anxious hope – sentiments that Patrick Nissley, innerpartysystem’s main songwriter, carries in his writing. Innerpartysystem have a distinctive vision, as their songs incorporate throbbing electronic beats that nod towards Autechre, Chemical Brothers and Squarepusher but they are equally a rock band whom, like Nine Inch Nails, Pendulum and Prodigy, aren’t afraid to mix styles and mess with the formula.

One of the most tragic stories of the 1990’s rock world was that of singer Shannon Hoon, and his band, Blind Melon. Despite scoring one of the decade’s most enduring singles and videos, "No Rain," and a quadruple platinum hit with their 1992 self-titled debut album (in addition to touring alongside rock’s biggest names), Hoon could not overcome a dangerous drug addiction. Only two records into a promising career, Hoon was dead from an overdose at the age of 28. ‘A Devil on One Shoulder and an Angel on the Other’ is the first book to tell the group’s story – culled from over 50 exclusive interviews, and featuring many never-before-seen photos.

‘A Devil on One Shoulder’ was written by journalist Greg Prato, whose work as appeared in a variety of sites and magazines, including All Music Guide,, Rolling, and Classic Rock Magazine, among others. A long-time fan of the band, Greg has been working on this book – with the help of the surviving members of the band – for the past few years. In the process, Greg conducted interviews with such renowned rock names as Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver/Guns N’ Roses), Gilby Clarke (G n’ R), Mike Clink (G n’ R producer), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), Mike Inez (Alice in Chains), and Craig Ross (Lenny Kravitz), plus family and friends – including Shannon’s mother, Nel Hoon.

While it will obviously appeal to fans of Shannon and Blind Melon, this

344 page paperback book (whose title comes from a phrase that guitarist Rogers Stevens once said to describe Shannon) will also be of interest to fans of Guns N’ Roses, as Shannon’s friendship with Axl Rose is chronicled throughout the years, as well as memories of when Melon opened shows for G n’ R in 1993 (at their out-of-control peak).

Elsewhere, you’ll find additional stories on Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Neil Young, Lenny Kravitz, Page & Plant, and the Rolling Stones– all of which are bands that Blind Melon toured with. And of course, new light is shed directly on this great yet often underrated band, as you get the inside scoop behind the three classic Hoon-era albums (the aforementioned ‘Blind Melon,’ 1995’s ‘Soup,’ and 1996’s posthumous release, ‘Nico’), the story behind "No Rain," the colorful yet tragic life of Shannon, and the group’s recent rebirth, with new singer Travis Warren (and new album, 2008’s ‘For My Friends’).

The book is available through for $19.99 (U.S.), and there are samples to read at the site (including a full chapter, titled ‘Axl and Shannon’). Blind Melon and Shannon Hoon’s unforgettable story certainly deserves to be told, and ‘A Devil on One Shoulder and an Angel on the Other’ covers all the bases. "I am honored that Greg has painstakingly accounted for what the hell happened during those crazy times. He has summed up all the chaos, jubilation, and paranoia that is Blind Melon." – Brad Smith, Blind Melon bassist

KEATON SIMONS Continues In-Progress U.S. Tour With Pete Francis From Dispatch Starting October 21

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Keaton Simons is no stranger to the road.  He’s been on tour ever since his critically acclaimed debut album, CAN YOU HEAR ME, was released June 10 on CBS Records.  Even as he criss-crosses the U.S.–along with Curtis Peoples, Tyrone Wells, Tony Lucca and Todd Carey–now comes word that he’ll be heading out for a couple of weeks in October with Pete Francis from Dispatch.

“Without Your Skin,” the album’s second single, is currently being serviced to radio stations nationwide.  Fans can check out the first video from CAN YOU HEAR ME, “Good Things Get Better,” on various outlets across the country including FUSE and DMX.

For his on-going tour with Tony Lucca and Curtis Peoples, Keaton piled his tour mates and equipment into his Toyota Highlander Hybrid.  For the environmentally friendly musician, it’s the ideal way to travel, as he says:  “Driving in my hybrid is perfect!  We save on gas and help the environment.  I really want to explore bio diesel ASAP.”

The road is Keaton’s home away from home and he’s hoping to be traveling all around the U.S. for many months to come to spread the word about his debut album.  “Every time I step on stage is a new opportunity to connect with music, the audience and myself,” he explains.  “It feels so good to be on the road promoting an album I believe in as strongly as this one.  I literally want EVERYONE in the world to hear it.  I love the road and I feel perfectly suited for it.  All the ups and downs…constantly on the move…it all feels completely natural to me. This is the best way to see the country.”

Throughout the album, Keaton’s tasteful Rock/Blues fretwork, masterful songwriting and searing vocals bring an honesty and integrity that’s instantly embracing, a warm emotional center core that reaches from the tangled vulnerability of opening track “Without Your Skin” and the lean, sensual drift of “To Me” to the spry suggestion of the title track and the playful intrigue of “Misfits.”  “Nobody Knows” proves instantly infectious, its sinewy rhythms wrapping around an irresistible refrain, while “Good Things Get Better” touts an optimistic view of the bonds that develop and strengthen through the inevitable ups and downs of relationships.

CAN YOU HEAR ME–produced by Dave Bianco (Mick Jagger, Zach De La Rocha, The Black Crowes)—has been racking up rave reviews.  To wit:

“…a deft effort at capturing Simons’ unusual and versatile sound. The songs include delicate, jazzy ballads and powerful blues numbers, peppered with elements of Elvis Costello, Eagle-Eye Cherry and Lenny Kravitz.”

–Scott Gold, Los Angeles Times,

June 15, 2008

“His knack for composing tunes with appealing melodic and rhythmic hooks is apparent from the outset, and more than a few lyrics on CAN YOU HEAR ME point to a promising future. His acoustic and electric guitar work, another big plus, helps personalize the album.”

      –Mike Joyce, Washington Post,

      August 22, 2008

“Elements of funk, rock, pop, jazz, country, you name it, are evident on this record.  Simons’ voice and masterful instrumental skills shine on all 11 tracks.  He sings songs that are uplifting and full of hope—his voice is honest and pure, almost innocent at times—however, his mood changes a bit on songs such as the emotionally indulgent “Without Your Skin,” “Currently” and “Unstoppable” and his vulnerability and wisdom come through forcing that squeaky clean image you thought you saw to fade away, allowing a musician full of grace and wisdom to appear…For a first release, Keaton Simons has put out a great record; one that showcases his many influences, but also lets his own creativity and character shine through.  Grade:  A.”

      –Amanda Hansult, Aquarian Weekly (NJ),

      May 28, 2008

“There is a hint of Jeff Healey and Robert Cray here; with music delivered with oodles of feeling and attention to detail. This is smoky barroom blues that is rife with emotion.”

      –Marty Dodge,,

‘All Together Now’ has screened at a number of festivals in the U.S. and across Canada in 2008, and accolades have followed. The film’s U.S.

debut opened the American Film Institute’s Silverdocs festival in Washington, DC in June where Rolling Stone praised the film’s sweeping visual style and "many insightful interviews." Screenings were as enthusiastically received at the CineVegas festival in Las Vegas, where it was called "remarkable" by Las Vegas Magazine, and the Hotdocs festival in Toronto, where Variety noted that ‘All Together Now’ "wowed audiences."

The documentary details the story behind the unique partnership between The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil that resulted in the creation and 2006 launch of LOVE, the stage production still playing to packed houses at The Mirage in Las Vegas, and the experimental Beatles soundscape album of the same name which garnered two Grammy Awards for producers Sir George and Giles Martin. The film is dedicated to the memory of Neil Aspinall, former CEO of Apple Corps and an Executive Producer of the DVD.

‘All Together Now’ faithfully recounts how the LOVE project came into being, borne from the personal friendship between George Harrison and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte. George saw how the twin talents of The Beatles’ music and the artistry of Cirque du Soleil’s artistry and could be fused into something new and totally original.

The director, Adrian Wills, traveled between London, Montreal, and Las Vegas recording early meetings between the Cirque du Soleil & Apple Corps Ltd. creative teams, as well as filming contributions from Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison discussing how The Beatles’ music can be used in a different way. Noting the uniqueness of these interactions Wills explains, “What surprised me the most was how human the whole process was.”

These early stages of the project were all filmed, as were the first rehearsals at the Mirage Hotel theatre in Las Vegas, which was completely rebuilt with a one-of-a-kind sound system and complex round staging to house the LOVE show. Sir George and Giles Martin, the show’s Musical Directors, were involved every step of the way with the remarkable Cirque du Soleil creative team, performers and backroom staff.

It wasn’t all “plain-sailing” and there has been no attempt to disguise some of the disagreements that took place along the way regarding how some of the songs would be portrayed visually. These creative differences, a necessary part of the overall process of bringing LOVE to its most vibrant life, illustrate the participants’ love and respect for the music and vision of The Beatles.

In addition to their roles within the main film, Sir George and Giles, along with engineer Paul Hicks, also feature in a bonus feature titled “Changing The Music” which reveals in fascinating depth how the music was created and the challenges they faced.  They explain how they sourced some of the individual instruments and effects and how they were encouraged to experiment.

BRIAN "HEAD" WELCH:  ‘Save Me From Myself’ Debuts at #13 on Billboard’s "Top Hard Rock Albums Chart"

Brian “Head” Welch‘s debut solo album, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF, had blistering sales its first week, making its debut on Billboard‘s “Top Hard Rock Albums” chart at #13, #7 on Billboard’s “Top Independent Albums” chart and #21 on SoundScan’s “Top Current Rock Albums” chart.  Overall, against all genres, including new releases and catalogue, Head’s album debuted on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums” chart at # 63.

"I am very excited with the first week numbers,” says Head.  “It’s a great start to getting back out there and re-connecting with all of my fans.  I’m just getting started!!!"

Since its release, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF (released September 9 on his Driven Music Group label with distribution by Ryko/Warner Music Group) has been racking up rave reviews:

“As shown throughout Head’s debut solo effort, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF, though his lyrical messages may now be more positive and uplifting than anything found in the Korn hard rock catalogue, the style of music brought forth here is as heavy as anything Mr. Welch has ever presented before.”

     –Hit Parader, October/November 2008

“…impressive…songs such as ‘Washed by Blood’ are as good as anything Korn’s put out in years. Download: “L.O.V.E.’”

     –Dave Wedge, Boston Herald,

     September 12, 2008

“After listening to SAVE ME FROM MYSELF, you’ll have no doubt as to who was behind the original Korn sound…Head delivers a testimony to his amazing life journey and personal salvation while his fans win with a CD well worth the wait.”

     –Anne Ryan, Connections (Orlando, FL),

     August 2008

“…the music here is filled with as much gravity, grit, and in-your-face heaviness as any other nu-metal band out there today, including Korn…”

     –Niki D’Andrea, Phoenix New Times,

     September 9, 2008

As he makes plans to launch a full-scale performance tour (to be announced later this year), the former Korn guitarist continues his in-progress promo tour to celebrate the album’s release.  At each stop, Head is signing copies of the album, as well as his autobiographies, Save Me From Myself, which landed on the New York Times “Best Seller” list (non-fiction) and has sold over 70,000 copies since its release, and Washed By Blood.  The latter is an edited paperback version of Save Me From Myself aimed at a younger audience and doesn’t contain the profanity and gory details of the original version.  A paperback of the original Save Me From Myself is also available now.  Fans can check him out at the following stops:

Multi-Platinum Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar will release a new album on Loud & Proud Records on November 18th. Cosmic Universal Fashion marks the first official release for Loud & Proud, a Roadrunner Records imprint focusing on established artists.  The title track and first single, “Cosmic Universal Fashion,” was written as an online collaboration between Hagar and a young Iraqi rock and roller by the name of Steven Lost.  Released via Sammy’s website and already a YouTube sensation, the video was produced in the same spirit as the classic Van Halen video for “Right Now, ” and strikes a timely chord with November’s upcoming Presidential election.

“We are light years ahead of where we thought we’d be in 1992, yet there will always be issues that continue to need our attention,” said Hagar. “With the upcoming election, global and national issues are at the forefront of everyone’s minds. ‘Cosmic Universal Fashion’ is not about supporting left or right, blue or red, but rather an attempt to appeal to people on a personal level to get involved.”

The track listing for Cosmic Universal Fashion is as follows:

1. Cosmic Universal Fashion

2. Psycho Vertigo

3. Peephole

5. Fight For Your Right To Party

6. Switch On The Light

7. When The Sun Don’t Shine

8. 24365

9. I’m On A Roll

10. Dreams/Cabo

Loud & Proud President Tom Lipsky comments, “Great artists make great music. Sammy Hagar and Cosmic Universal Fashion prove that once again. I am thrilled that he is kicking off the partnership between Loud & Proud Records and Roadrunner Records.”

Globally known as the “Red Rocker” (after his anthem “Red” from 1977’s self-titled album), Hagar has led a storied career.  From his first band Montrose through his years as frontman for Van Halen to his current status as solo artist with his band The Wabos, Hagar has seen over 60 million in record sales, won 2 Grammys, and along with Van Halen, won 3 MTV VMAs for “Right Now.”  In addition to his musical endeavors, Hagar is the founder of world-renowned Cabo Wabo tequila and has several charities which he supports.  In November, Hagar is set to perform two shows in St. Louis benefiting Blessings In A Backpack, a program whereby underprivileged children are sent home from school on a Friday with a backpack full of nutritious food, designed to keep them eating healthy throughout the weekend.

The Gaslight Anthem Announce Canadian Tour Dates With Rise Against

On the heels of their critically-acclaimed sophomore album The ’59 Sound (Aug. 19, SideOneDummy Records), New Jersey cult-punk-soul-rockers The Gaslight Anthem announce their first-ever trek north of the border for a run of dates with Rise Against, Alkaline Trio and Thrice this fall.

The Canadian leg of the tour includes a back-to-back set of Toronto shows on October 3 & 4 and a Vancouver date on November 9 (see below for full details).

Although the New Brunswick, New Jersey 4-piece has only been a band for two-and-a-half years, their meteoric rise from relative obscurity to become one of punk’s most celebrated acts of 2008 has generated a much-deserved whirlwind of glowing international press coverage around the release of The ’59 Sound (produced by former Flogging Molly guitarist Ted Hutt (Chuck Ragan, Bouncing Souls)).

Far and away the most adventurous release in their short but prolific career, The ’59 Sound encapsulates all the energy of a Gaslight Anthem live show into 12 tracks of punk-infused, soulful rock n’ roll.  Blending the band’s love of classic rock and influences like Bruce Springsteen, Otis Redding and Tom Petty with their New Jersey punk roots, the result is an album so timeless that it could have been recorded in 1978 or 2008.

Before kicking off the Rise Against tour, The Gaslight Anthem will hit the road on September 13 with American Steel on a co-headlining tour of the Eastern US that will take them through the end of the month.  Polar Bear Club and O Pioneers!!! will round out the bill on separate legs of the tour.

THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM – Canadian Tour Dates:

Oct. 3 – Toronto, ON @ Sound Academy w/Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Thrice

Oct. 4 – Toronto, ON @ Sound Academy w/Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Thrice

Nov. 9 – Vancouver, BC @ Thunderbird Stadium w/Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Thrice

GODHEAD: ‘At The Edge Of The World’ Due Out October 7

Jason C. Miller (vocals, guitars), Michael Miller (guitars), Ullrich Hepperlin (bass, programming) and Ty Smith (drums)—are set to release their sixth studio album, AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD, October 7 on Driven Music Group (distribution by Ryko/Warner Music Group), the label owned by ex-Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch and music execs Greg Shanaberger and Mark Nawara.

The album—produced by bassist Ullrich Hepperlin–features 13 songs and 5 bonus remixes courtesy of Assemblage 23, Sebastian Komor (Icon of Coil), Curse Mackey (Pigface, Evil Mothers), Shok (My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult) and Fat and Acid  (American Head Charge).  AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD is 80 minutes of brand new Godhead.  “Stay Back,” the disc’s first single, is currently being serviced to radio stations across the country, and a video will be shot in Los Angeles within the next few weeks with first-time music video director and well-known actress Juliette Landau (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Ed Wood”).  It will be ready for TV and online consumption early next month.

“When I was writing ‘Stay Back,’” explains singer/guitarist Jason C. Miller,  “I thought about all the times people push each other away in relationships, maybe from clashing ideals or just being afraid of something good.  I assumed the role of the person who knows he’s a spoiler, but has enough morality left to warn the other person.”

He continues about the album’s overall writing process, “We really reconnected with the influences that inspired us to write music, like The Cure, Black Sabbath, Bauhaus, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, David Bowie, Depeche Mode and even Rush.  It’s something I always try to do, but don’t always succeed.  It’s not the radio single that makes you a true fan of a band, it’s those interesting tracks that you discover late at night sitting in your room.  And I try to ignore modern music trends at all costs.  Why become a clone of what’s popular now only to be ignored tomorrow?  Stick to your own sound and your audience will find you, and they will stay with you for the rest of your life.”

In addition to fronting Godhead, Miller is an accomplished actor (most recently seen in an ad campaign for Comedy Central, where he portrayed “Nosferatu”) and voice-over artist, devout Buddhist, trains in Kung Fu and is a loyal supporter The Sogan Foundation (, a charity which raises funds for The Tibetan Institute for Science and Technology (TIST) in Golok, Tibet.  He has provided voices for over 25 different anime shows, some of which have been recorded at the recording studio he owns, Central Command Studios.

Formed in the mid-’90s, Godhead has been steadily building their fan base and emerging as a true international rock act.  Their major label debut release of 2000 YEARS OF HUMAN ERROR on Marilyn Manson’s Posthuman Records in January 2001, and the follow-ups EVOLVER in 2003 and THE SHADOW LINE in 2006, have collectively sold well over 200,000 copies to date. After years of touring extensively with Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, Static-X, Mudvayne, Rammstein, Pigface and Saliva to name a few–as well as performing at Ozzfest and the Reading and Leeds festivals overseas–Godhead has scraped, clawed and carved out their own place in the rock music world.

“FALL FROM GRACE is a message, about how trials and tribulations in life will constantly try to knock you down, and as an individual you to rise above those situations, and persevere. We all fall from grace at one point or another, but it’s up to you to be strong and carry on.” –Tryg Littlefield

This band has come together and faced the darkest of times but has spun it in a way that brings the message of hope and hard core happiness to all who hear it.

BRIAN “HEAD” WELCH Launches Promotional Tour

Former Korn guitarist BRIAN “HEAD” WELCH is launching a promo tour to celebrate the release of his debut solo album, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF, due out September 9 on Driven Music Group (distribution by Ryko/Warner Music Group), the label he co-founded with music execs Greg Shanaberger and Mark Nawara. The first single, “Flush,” is currently spinning on radio stations nationwide, including XM and Sirius, and it’s currently available for purchase exclusively on iTunes.

At each stop along the tour route, Head will be signing copies of the album, as well as his autobiographies, Save Me From Myself, which landed on the New York Times “Best Seller” list (non-fiction) and has sold over 70,000 copies since its release, and Washed By Blood.  The latter is an edited paperback version of Save Me From Myself aimed at a younger audience and doesn’t contain the profanity and gory details of the original version.  A paperback of the original Save Me From Myself is also available now.

The album was produced by Head, who recorded the music off and on for the past two years in Phoenix, Arizona.  It features renowned musicians Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, David Bowie) and Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails), and was mixed by Ralph Patlan and Bob Clearmountain.  It’s a testimony of Head’s life as he battled with drug addiction and leaving Korn, and finding spirituality.  It will leave no doubt in everyone’s mind that Head, as a founding member of Korn, has not lost his passion for the heavy sound that originally helped make his former band famous.  SAVE ME FROM MYSELF will remind listeners of Head’s dominant influence in the nu-metal sound that projected Korn to the top of the music charts for over a decade.  It can only be described as a heavy metal epic, with a positive message.

Mixing reggae rhythms with rock melodies, The Weybourne Project create a unique musical style that is instantly recognizable.  Upbeat, relevant and fun, these self described “Soul Surfers” play the music which flows from their lifestyle of snowboarding, surfing and laid back country living.  With the release of their self titled CD they are hoping to expand their fan base when they hit the road across Canada this fall.

Formed in 2006 by Justin McArthur (vocals, lead guitar), Jeff Glover (bass) and Brent Smiley (drums) and with the recent addition of rhythm guitarist John Touchette, The Weybourne Project have been delighting audiences around Central Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area.  In a short time they have developed a dedicated following and have played numerous shows and high profile events including the Montreal Reggaefest and the Iriefest in Toronto.

Recorded at KornerStone Studio and Wellesley Sound Studios in Toronto and produced by Jeffrey “Luge” Holdip and legendary Toronto reggae artist Charles Tower Sinclair, the Weybourne Project’s first album reflects the wide variety of influences that has shaped the bands love of music.

“Roots”, the very first song written as a collaborative effort by the band, is a distinct shout out to the reggae music that influences this band and an influence that gives “Pill Popper” and “Fire” their distinct sound.  From the rocking “Right There” and “My Dream” to the more laid back “When the Morning Comes” and “Would You” this CD sets The Weybourne Project apart from the pack.

“The Weybourne Project, another fan favorite, performed a tight set! This band amped it up another step and had the crowd loving it!” Bodog Ontario Music

“[It was the] Weybourne Project that really stole the show. They had great songs, great energy and got the audience dancing. Their reggae influence worked for them, that’s for sure.” Bodog Toronto Music Finals (Winners)

David Bowie’s ‘iSELECT: BOWIE’ to be released Oct. 14 by Virgin/EMI

Earlier this year, David Bowie was asked by a UK newspaper to compile a selection of 12 songs from his own catalog for a limited edition giveaway CD titled iSELECT:

BOWIE.  Rather than submitting a surface-skimming list of top hits, Bowie delivered an unexpectedly personal, career-spanning selection of recordings he “never seems to tire of,” including two exclusive tracks, with his own insightful notes. Bundled with the June 29, 2008 Mail On Sunday newspaper, the CD was sold out and unavailable by the next day, becoming an out-of-print collectors’ item and stirring worldwide interest.  To meet demand for this eclectic and personal collection, Virgin/EMI will commercially release iSELECT: BOWIE on CD and digitally on October 14.

For his iSELECT collection, David Bowie compiled and sequenced 12 of his own favorite tracks and accompanied all of them with annotations; personal reflections that provide fascinating insight into every selection and why each song continues to resonate with him.

Bowie reveals that “Lady Grinning Soul” “was written for a wonderful young girl whom I’ve not seen for more than 30 years. When I hear this song she’s still in her 20s, of course. A song will put you tantalizingly close to the past, so close that you can almost reach out and touch it. The sound of ghosts again.”

Bowie added another surprise by including two unavailable tracks among his selections. “There are a host of songs that I’ve recorded over the years that for one reason or another I’ve often wanted to re-record some time in the future,” notes Bowie about the collection’s version of “Time Will Tell.”  “This track from Never Let Me Down is one of those. I’ve replaced the drum machine with true drums and added some crickety strings and remixed. I’m very fond of this new version with its Neil Young of Shortlands accents.”

The collection’s other exclusive track is the dreamlike “Some Are,”

recorded during the Low album sessions, which Bowie describes as “a quiet little piece Brian Eno and I wrote in the Seventies. The cries of wolves in the background are sounds that you might not pick up on immediately. Unless you’re a wolf. They’re almost human, both beautiful and creepy.”

iSELECT: BOWIE (CD, Digital Album)

1.   Life On Mars? (from the album Hunky Dory)

2.   Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing (from the album Diamond Dogs)

3.   The Bewlay Brothers (from the album Hunky Dory)

4.   Lady Grinning Soul (from the album Aladdin Sane)

5.   Win (from the album Young Americans)

6.   Some Are (currently exclusive to this compilation)

7.   Teenage Wildlife (from the album Scary Monsters)

8.   Repetition (from the album Lodger)

9.   Fantastic Voyage (from the album Lodger)

10. Loving The Alien (from the album Tonight)

11. Time Will Crawl (MM Remix) (new remix by David Bowie)

Eagle To Release ‘Legends Live at Montreux 1997’ On Blu-Ray – September 30

Legends, indeed! The melding of lead guitarist Eric Clapton, drummer Steve Gadd, bassist Marcus Miller, keyboardist Joe Sample (of The Crusaders) and tenor saxman David Sanborn into one superband performing on the prestigious Montreux stage means there’s going to be some sublime music-making headed your way! These are, arguably, the best musicians in the world, and when they came together on this night in 1997, the results were positively magic! Add to that the beauty and clarity of Blu-Ray, complete with stunning sound, and you have one heavy-duty 13-song 107-minute blockbuster Blu-Ray Event. It lands in stores September 30.

Legends Live At Montreux 1997 is the only known document of this all-star line-up, a line-up that never had the opportunity to record together. Filled with delicious jazz, blues and rock, the material gives each maestro the opportunity to stretch out and shine on his respective ax. The result is an intoxicating brew of improvisation and collective chemistry that has to be seen and heard to be believed (The set is also available on DVD – released September 2005 on Eagle Rock Entertainment).

Bassist Miller and Drummer Gadd had already played in Guitarist Clapton’s bands so their musical interaction was skin-tight. This Miller/Gadd all-star rhythm section is perfectly in sync with the master guitarist to the point of what can only be described as stageside mental telepathy. Miller, in fact, put this solid aggregation together for a ’97 Euro tour.

Eagle To Release Jonny Lang ‘Live At Montreux 1999’ – On DVD September 9

Eagle Eye Media will release the latest in its respected Montreux Jazz Festival DVD series on September 9 when the young blues prodigy Jonny Lang goes Live At Montreux 1999 in a blistering performance.

This first-ever Lang DVD runs 54 minutes, with a nine-song setlist traversing musical borders from the opener, the Sonny Boy Williamson classic "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl"  (popularized by Ten Years After in the ’60s) to the Dr. John funky strut, "A Quitter Never Wins (And A Winner Never Quits)."

Live At Montreux was filmed when Lang was a mere 18 years old, the jagged soulful edge of a born soloist plainly evident. Influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, George Thorogood, Eric Clapton and T-Bone Walker, Lang combines them all here with a positively electric live performance, one of, if not the best, of his career. The material showcased is culled from his first two A&M albums, reflecting his consummate professionalism. Lang’s most recent CD is Turnaround. He has sold over three million albums to date.

Track Listing

1)   Still Rainin’

2)   Good Morning Little Schoolgirl

3)   A Quitter Never Wins

4)   Right Back

5)   There’s Gotta Be A Change

Mike Skinner, aka The Streets, will be delivering his fourth album, everything is borrowed October 7th on Vice Records. Never one to take the same approach twice, Skinner is contemplating the impermanent nature of life this time around. Skinner has made a record to console the lonely and bring a smile to the saddest visage. Applying his homespun hip-hop sensibility to real instruments, Mike comes up with sing-a-long musings on such unconventional subjects as religion ("Alleged Legends"), evolution ("The Way of the Dodo"), biological destiny ("On the Edge of a Cliff"), and male friendship ("The Sherry End"). From the first time people heard The Streets’ Mercury Prize-nominated debut Original Pirate Material, they couldn’t make their minds up whether the person making this music was black or white, from London or the Midlands, serious or a joker. Having given the world plenty of time to get acclimated, Skinner now rediscovers his old irrepressible buoyancy and takes his trademark stop-start lyrical flow to entirely new places.

Watch "The Escapist" video and receive a free download of the track:

"British MC Mike Skinner is a pale-faced poet laureate the geezer is so real it hurts." – SPIN

"Mike Skinner is to hazy slacker downtime what Hunter S Thompson is to Americana: a shrewd chronicler, a dizzying blurrer of creative forms." – INTERVIEW

"It’s important to note that Mike Skinner (aka the Streets) is pop music’s rarest commodity: a singular talentimplausibly imaginative." – ESQUIRE

"Skinner’s ear for language and detail is vivid and hilarious. Call it Zen Hooliganism – ROLLING STONE

Skinner, though, is life’s real deal, an artists who knows that, if rendered honestly, even mundane experiences can produce the most powerful music." – NEW YORK MAGAZINE

FF5 Hits Billboard’s Top 200 with "Dance Or Die!"

Family Force 5’s sophomore release, Dance Or Die, released August 19 by Transparent Media Group/EMI, has debuted at #30 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart and #8 on the Alternative Rock chart with first-week sales totaling 12,989.

Dance Or Die charged out of the gate with its funky rhythms, contagious club grooves and undeniable hooks.  Just off the Vans Warped Tour ‘08, Family Force 5 will hit the road again in October for a headlining club tour to more than 20 North American cities, including New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit and Toronto.

Dance Or Die, the Atlanta-based group’s second album, is replete with rippling rhythms, assaulting electronics, raucous rock ‘n roll, and an all-encompassing futuristic vibe. From the sci-fi synth textures of “Fever” and the thrash-tinged robotic rocker “Radiator” to its ultra-contagious title track, Dance Or Die has been described as “a musical version of Mad Max meets 2001: A Space Odyssey.”

“You don’t know it yet, but this is your favorite album of the year” – Absolute Punk, August 2008

After garnering rave reviews on the Vans Warped Tour ‘08, Family Force 5 looks forward to their headlining “Dance Rawr Dance 2” club tour this fall with Danger Radio and Play Radio Play. The tour begins on October 6 in Raleigh, NC and will continue to more than 20 cities throughout October and into November.

Family Force 5 has built a sizable and loyal fan base by averaging 250 to 300 days on the road each year.  In addition to watching the band’s members thrashing the stage in self-designed futuristic “spacesuit”

fashions, fans at this fall’s “Dance Rawr Dance 2” shows will bear witness to the “Family Force 5000,” a massive drum machine they personally invented that, at first glance, looks more like the next NASA launch computer than it does a musical instrument.

“It is the only fully-functional giant drum machine in the universe.

It’s a six-and-a-half-foot tall, 760-pound juggernaut of pads, knobs, and switches that inhales electricity and exhales lightning,” says Family Force 5 vocalist and guitarist Solomon “Soul Glow Activatur”

Olds. “The Family Force 5000 started as a joke three years ago. Then we mentioned it to a friend, who happens to be a wizard in electronics, and he was able to bring our sci-fi idea to life. The fact that we have a huge, light-up, chunky machine on stage is pretty cool, and it adds to the robotic rock element of this season.”

The Dance Or Die release is a strategic partnership between the Transparent Media Group, founded by the Olds brothers, manager Chris Woltman and producer Joe Baldridge, with EMI Music Marketing and Tooth &

Nail Records.

Family Force 5 is:

Solomon “Soul Glow Activator” Olds – vocals, guitar

Jacob “Crouton” Olds – drums, vocals

Joshua “Fatty” Olds – bass, vocals

Derek “Chap Stique” Mount – guitar

Nathan “Nadaddy” Currin – keyboards, turntables

A musical love letter from Southern California, That Lucky Old Sun shimmers with sun-dappled choruses and arrangements that swell and swirl as if carried by the Pacific tides.  Rolling Stone magazine has deemed it “Brian’s strongest new work in years,” and one of the album’s songs, “Midnight’s Another Day,” has been described by MOJO magazine as “glorious.” The album is narrated in transitional interludes spoken by Wilson as ‘That Lucky Old Sun,’ the storyteller.

Following numerous nominations, Wilson won a well-deserved Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance (2004) for “Mrs. O’Leary’s Cow” and he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006. Sound And Fury Announce Tour With Bang Camaro

Sound and Fury are continuing their rock n’ roll freight train of excess with the group’s Fall US tour alongside Boston based ’80s enthusiasts Bang Camaro.

"Bang Camaro are really great and we’re really excited to be touring with them and its gonna be a kick ass party," commented Sound and Fury frontman Luke Metcalf.

Toronto’s Sound and Fury are flying high off their self-titled debut full-length album, which was released through Rebel Youth Records/MRI-RED Distribution. The band’s refreshing approach to modern rock combines the thunderous riffing of AC/DC with the raw energy of the Ramones. The band’s explosive live show has been converting loyal fans opening for everyone from pop-punkers Sum 41 to Aussie rockers Airbourne. Sound and Fury’s unbridled power can be witnessed in the group’s brand new video for "Teenage Rampage", which can be seen online at

Boston based Bang Camaro are the perfect tour companion to aid Sound and Fury’s whiskey rawk show. The band consists of three guitar players, a bass player, a drummer, and anywhere from ten to twenty singers. The songs remind the listener of arena rock from the mid to late 80s, but with a strange twist. This band has no lead vocals, only guitar solos and choruses sung by the band and the mob of extras. The group is touring in support of their self-titled debut album, which has drawn attention from MTV and Billboard magazine.

WINTERSLEEP to tour this fall

While their name might suggest otherwise, Wintersleep is anything but heavy-eyed and drowsy. On the contrary, Welcome to the Night Sky –the Halifax indie rock troupe’s third full-length and the follow-up to its promising 2005 untitled sophomore LP– bursts with undeniable life. From the nervous organ buzz of "Miasmal Smoke & The Yellow Bellied Freaks" to the pounding rhythms and soaring melodies of "Dead Letter," the album throbs with heart and energy unlike few releases in recent memory. Indeed, recorded earlier this year with Mogwai production maestro Tony Doogan, Welcome to the Night Sky is Wintersleep’s most accomplished record to date, a sonic treasure filled with exuberance, melancholy, and everything in between.

"Part of the scene that revolves around the indie-label collective Dependent Music, this Halifax band exemplifies the distinction between band and community" – The Toronto Star

"In the age of digital manipulation and pitch perfect pre-manufactured pop, it’s almost impossible to find an album as emotionally evocative as Welcome to the Night Sky. Musically, the album is reminiscent of a night spent alone, staring at the midnight starry sky—and like those nights, Welcome to the Night Sky is a quiet and introspective experience" – The Gauntlet

"With blasting hard rock and dreamy melancholy playing equally important roles, the main consistency of Welcome To The Night Sky’s ten tunes comes in their delivery. The band, which includes Paul Murphy on vocals/guitar, Loel Campbell on drums, Tim D’Eon on guitar, and Jud Haynes on bass, have created a collection where each song, despite the range in content and mood, is on par with its counterparts in musical and lyrical strength." – Ukula Magazine

In other news, the band recently announced a massive US tour in support of Welcome to the Night Sky. The two-month jaunt begins in mid October and doesn’t wrap until AFTER Thanksgiving. What’s more, the tour is preceded by an appearance at Toronto’s V Fest on September 6th. Needless to say, this is shaping up to be quite the fall for Wintersleep.
