For Selena And Sin – Overdosed on You

For Selena and Sin comes from < ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Finland and is fronted by a female. The music is dark/symphonic Goth mixed with sad and black rock. It’s easy to hear that they are inspired by Nightwish especially when it comes to the vocal efforts. 10 tracks are included and the last tune “Happy New Year” is strictly instrumental. The music follows the same formula through the entire album and even though everything is well executed and the material is solid it gets a little boring form time to time because nothing really happens. The songs are all pretty much the same tempo and it would have been nice to get a break from the sadness sometime.  Instead of glancing so much on Within Temptation, Evanescence and Nightwish I think they should have used the time to develop a more personal sound. < ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Most of the production feels solid but sometimes focus on the commercial side of the music too much. I like For Selena and Sin in small amounts, they have stuff to work on and by that I mean that first and foremost they must focus on developing their own style and sound because as it is now they sound just like any other act in this genre. If you’re into Nightwish and Within Temptation you will like For Selena and Sin as well.

Killer tracks are “Who’s Behind the Door?”, “Rain Tonight”, “Satellites”, “Million Miles High” and “Draining”.
