Although the Beatles certainly had some ‘heavy’ moments (“Helter Skelter,” “Revolution” or “I Want You (She’s So Heavy),” anyone?), they are certainly not considered a metal band. And on the other side of the coin, Metallica is not considered a pop band. But then along comes Beatallica, and the lines between both acts have been erased – as heard throughout their first official, ‘Sgt. Hetfield’s Motorbreath Pub Band’. Comprised of members Jaymz Lennfield (vocals, guitar), Grg Hammettson (guitar), Kliff McBurtney (bass), and Ringo Larz (drums), Beatallica has been converting naysayers into believers for years by this point – having made fans throughout the world, and also with such renowned headbangers as Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy and Anthrax’s Scott Ian.

Originally coming to the attention of Headbangers everywhere with their initial Internet phenomenon story, the quartet has signed on with Oglio Records, to release ‘Sgt. Hetfield’s Motorbreath Pub Band’ on July 10th. As evidenced by such song titles as “And Justice For All My Loving,” “Leper Madonna,” and “Ktulu (He’s So Heavy),” the quartet’s knack for combining both these music giants together remains as sharp as ever. Not just a studio creation, Beatallica has amassed a huge following – known as the Beatallibangers – throughout the world due to their fun, hard rocking live show, as they’ve played shows with such metal heavy weights as Motorhead, and have even headlined open-air festivals themselves. Further U.S. and Euro live dates beckon, as well as video clips for “Revol-ooh-tion” and “A Garage Dayz Nite.”

Complete tracklisting for ‘Sgt. Hetfield’s Motorbreath Pub Band’:
1. Sgt. Hetfield’s Motorbreath Pub Band
2. Revol-ooh-tion
3. Blackened In The U.S.S.R.
4. Sandman
5. Helvester of Skelter
6. A Garage Dayz Nite
7. Anesthesia (I’m Only Sleeping)
8. Leper Madonna
9. Ktulu (He’s So Heavy)
10. For Horsemen
11. Hey Dude
12. Sgt. Hetfield’s (Reprise)
13. And Justice For All My Loving

Stereo Dynamite Recordings are pleased to announce the signing of Mississauga Ontario’s own ska-punk, buzz band Keepin’ 6. The band is a favorite in the Southern Ontario punk scene, and join the Stereo Dynamite Recordings roster of artists which include The Creepshow, The Video Dead and The Matadors.

“I’ve had the opportunity to watch Keepin’ 6 develop over the years into an undeniably explosive band” says Stereo Dynamite President Adam (DOOM) Sewell. “It’s really exciting for the label to be involved with the band at this point in their career.  They’re hell-bent on making fantastic music, playing kick-ass shows and touring until they drop. We’re gonna use some of that energy to spread the gospel of Keepin’ 6!”
Formed in 2003 by 4 lifelong friends; drummer Matt “Phatty” Wilkinson, guitarist Jason Wilford, bassist Dan Renwick and vocalist Bryan Hotchkiss, KEEPIN’ 6 have spent the past few years playing hundreds of all ages shows in the local underground ska-punk scene alongside such local peers as illScarlett and The Flatliners.
Stereo Dynamite will release the band’s debut album UNCENSORED on June 12th of this year. Produced by Steve Rizun (illScarlett, Hostage Life, The Creepshow), the album is 11 tracks of high-energy ska-punk fused to modern rock sensibilities. Combining a manic energy with hooks that will stay in your head for days, UNCENSORED is an album of songs that might just be the sonic missing link between Rancid and Billy Talent.

“We’re very stoked to be working with Stereo Dynamite, the only label with enough balls to put out a record as uncensored as this is!” comments band guitarist Jason Wilford.
“Get ready for the chaos!” continues Sewell. “Once their fans get to hear this album, the buzz on the band is gonna spread like wildfire!”
Keepin’ 6 are currently planning summer and fall tours. Expect a first video and radio single from the album UNCENSORED to be announced shortly.

UNCENSORD is in-stores June 12, 2007. (Canada only.)

Close As You Get from Irish Blues-Rock guitarist Gary Moore ups the blues ante of his ’06 Old New Ballads Blues into a cohesive stripped-down blues-rock machine. Whether interpreting jump blues and urban blues classics (Chuck Berry’s “Thirty Days” and Sonny Boy Williamson’s “Eyesight To The Blind”) or giving voice to his own compositions, Moore has been an amazingly consistent singer/songwriter/performer, ever since his emergence from the British Isles in the 1960s.

His work in Thin Lizzy and in Colosseum II endeared him to a generation. He has continued to gravitate towards the earthy emotion-packed centers of gutbucket barrelhouse blues’n’boogie in his solo work, of which Close As You Get absolutely revels in.

Born Robert Williams Gary Moore in Belfast Ireland, the guitarist quickly fell under the sway of the pre-Fleetwood Mac Peter Green, whom he emulated when Green was a John Mayall Bluesbreaker, and with whom he shared a close friendship. Another mate, the late Phil Lynott, became his uppermost musical foil in Thin Lizzy when the sound of Moore’s bluesy licks accentuated perfectly Lynott’s low growl to produce some of Thin Lizzy’s most memorable moments.

But it was the blues that kept dragging Moore back into its warm embrace. From 1973’s Grinding Stone to 1990’s Still Got The Blues (with Albert Collins, Albert King and BB King), and on to 2004’s Power Of The Blues, Moore hasn’t deviated from his true calling.

Close As You Get (SLP $15.99) is intimate, infused with a purposeful nod to his influences, yet filled with the kind of chiseled bravado that only experience can afford.

Frontiers Records Updates

Frontiers Records is proud to announce the signing of GREAT WHITE for the release of the band’s forthcoming 25th Anniversary / Reunion all-original studio album in august 2007 !
The Southern California blues-rock band first took a bite out of the rock scene in 1984 and since then has achieved worldwide success, encompassing sales of over six million records. They received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and earned a double platinum certification for the album “.Twice Shy”.
The soulful, blues-based signature sound that turned songs like “Face The Day”, “Rock Me” and “Save Your Love” into international hits, can also be found on the new songs which are currently being mixed by the band’s keyboard player Michael Lardie.
“I don’t feel it’s a record where we have tried to reinvent ourselves”, says guitar player Mark Kendall, “It’s like everything you have liked or disliked over our entire career rolled into 1 record and then some. But everyone has grown musically and I think that will show through”
The – still untitled – new album, is the first all original in 8 years and was recorded in just three weeks during March ’07. The process was very spontaneous. According to drummer Audie Desbrow: “The recording experience was a blast. We had a lot of fun doing this one”, while Michael Lardie adds: “The one thing I wanted to make sure of, was that FUN was the signpost for every bit of recording we did, no stress, loose, upbeat, mission accomplished! Egos have been checked at the door and decisions are made as to what is best for each song”.
Bassist Sean McNabb comments: “I think we had creative control on this one and everyone got to give ideas, that made it a band thing”.
Michael Lardie concludes: “The new songs sound fresh to me, very Great White but with an approach of what we sound like in a live performance situation. Kendall and I are having fun channeling our Stones roots and playing off each other in the Richards/Woods tradition”.
Great White has been churning out memorable songs since the early 80’s, when singer Jack Russell and guitarist Mark Kendall joined forces and adopted a blues-based sound that went against the era’s glam rock grain. Their independently released EP “Out of the Night” sold 20,000 copies and brought Great White to sign a deal with EMI America, which issued the eponymous “Great White” in 1984.
“Shot in the Dark”, their follow-up independent release, marked the arrival of drummer Audie Desbrow. By the time Capitol Records signed the band and reissued “Shot in the Dark”, keyboardist-guitarist Michael Lardie had come aboard. Great White then hit the road with Dokken and was on the verge of even bigger success. The 1987 follow-up “Once Bitten.”, which featured the hit tracks “Rock Me”, “Lady Red Light”, and “Save Your Love”, went platinum. Their next album “.Twice Shy”, which featured the Top 5 hit “Once Bitten, Twice Shy”, more than doubled that tally.
The late 80’s were boom years for the band, marked by non-stop touring with some of the biggest bands of the era and playing also in Europe and Japan. Great White recorded two more albums for Capitol – “Hooked”, which was certified gold and “Psycho City”.
Although Capitol issued a Best Of compilation in 1993, Great White had already departed the label to begin work on their next studio release, “Sail Away”, released on Zoo Records in 1994 supporting it with relentless touring. Their next release, “Let It Rock” in 1996.
Great White then signed with Portrait Records, an imprint founded by A&R guru John Kalodner that featured fellow hard rock acts such as Ratt. “Can’t Get There from Here” was released in 1999 and is the band’s last studio opus thus far.
Frontiers Records plans to release the newest album at the end of August 2007. More details will be released at a later stage.

Frontiers Records is particularly pleased to announce the signing of CROWN OF THORNS !

“Yes, we are very excited to make a new record”, states band leader Jean Beauvoir, “It’s been quite a while so we’ve had to chance to recharge our batteries and build up our creativity”.

Frontiers and Beauvoir agreed recently to ink a deal together in order to bring back the legendary band with a brand new album. “Some basic tracks were recorded already” says Jean, “but still early stages. We want to focus on great songs, I feel that this is the important point. We love great melodies, lyrics, hooks, and power! We want to combine these elements in the best way possible. We want the new album to be one that raises eyebrows and makes our comeback a welcomed one!”

Formed at the dawn of the 90’s by Jean Beauvoir (songwriter for Kiss, Ramones, Lionel Ritchie, John Waite among others and former member of Plasmatics and Voodoo X) recruiting Tony Thompson of Chic and The Powerstation, Micki Free of Shalimar and top session bassist Michael Paige, Crown Of Thorns quickly became the subject of a fierce major label bidding war.
Fate decreed, however, that the resulting self titled debut album – due to the changes in the musical climates and management differences – got released independently only in mid April 1994 to much critical acclaim. This was promptly followed by a packed out show at London’s Marquee Club. With the album receiving rave reviews everywhere – Kerrang! dubbed it “One of the finest American Hard Rock albums in recent years” – it entered the Metal charts a week after release and stayed there for an incredible six months!

In 1995 Crown Of Thorns were asked by Jon Bon Jovi to be special guests to Bon Jovi and Van Halen for three months throughout all of Europe, playing to over a million people and with raving audience response. With their re-recorded “Are you Ready” single CD climbing the UK-charts and after Crown Of Thorns performance at the prestigious Rock am Ring festival in Germany, the band finalized deals with the othe r territories and returned home to the US for a bit of a rest. But not for long! They soon after headed back into the studio for the completion of their album “Breakthrough”, released in 1996.

Crown Of Thorns released another 3 amazing studio albums “Lost Cathedral in 1998, “Destiny Unknown” in 2000 and “Karma” in 2002 to great acclaim.

Melodic hard rock with prime time balls : Crown Of Thorns is a what rock’n’roll is all about and their come back promises to be one of the events of the year in rock!

Yet another Swedish melodic rock band??? Yes indeed! Continuing a long tradition of fine melodic rock bands, WORK OF ART is the latest addition to the Swedish Melodic Rock scene.

Featuring singer Lars Säfsund, one of Sweden’s best kept secrets with Robert Säll on guitars and Herman Furin on drums, Work of Art delivers a melodic, yet powerful rock music, based around Lars strong vocals. Influences from bands like Toto, Journey and Giant can easily be spotted in the sound of the trio, which still has a very recognizable trademark.

Ranging from more up-tempo rockers like “Why do I?” to more radio friendly songs like ” Camelia”, Work of Art is hoping reach not only the traditional melodic rock fan but also to cross over to a wider and more radio based audience.

“Well, the best way to describe Work Of Art sound could be: heavily Toto inspired! Especially the Isolation period. In other words, guitar driven melodic rock with lots of harmonies, strong hooks with lots of keyboards as well!” says guitarist Robert Säll.
Work Of Art are now busy recording their debut album which promises to be ear candy for the AOR lovers. Some reviews of their 3-track demo tape already speak of a revelation:

“AOR of the highest level” – Strutter

“Work of Art remind me of all the best things in scandi-AOR , melody, harmony great songs and tight musicianship and of course a great production” – 1st review AOR Dreamzones

“Work Of Art must be one of the better acts to come out of the Swedish AOR-ish jungle in a very long time” – 2nd review AOR Dreamzones

Frontiers Records, upon hearing the material immediately decided to sign up the guys in real awe of the quality of the songs submitted! The label plans to release the album within the end of the year.

The Work Of Art demo tape can be heard in streaming at the band’s official myspace page: www.myspace.com/musicofworkofart

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of the long awaited FREDERIKSEN / DENANDER album “Baptism By Fire” on June the 8th 2007 !
Best know for his role as lead vocalist in TOTO’s “Isolation”, Dennis “Fergie” Frederiksen is undoubtedly one of the most gifted singers in Melodic Rock history. He left his mark also on timeless albums such as Trillion’s debut, Le Roux “So Fired Up” and more recently singing on the awesome Mecca project.
Hot on the heels of that recording Fergie, took the chance to work with Swedish guitar player Tommy Denander on his very popular Radioactive albums. Tommy is a very clever and respected musician and producer who has worked with an amazing number of artists and played on an equally impressive number of records (with more than 1000 albums on his credit list that can boast such names as Paul Stanley, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Richard Marx, Desmond Child, TOTO and many more).
Getting to know each other better and better, the guys started to focus on the idea of working on a full album together with Tommy working on the songwriting and production and Fergie offering his incredible vocal and of course songwriting skills.
But of course when you have such amount of talent involved you can’t help but call. even more talent to help! Fellow Frederiksen buddy, Ricky Phillips (with whom Fergie released the successful Frederiksen / Phillips album in 1995) of Styx, Jim Peterik of Pride of Lions and Tommy’s songwriting partner on many albums Björn Lindbom  – among others –  offered their songwriting contributions to the project, while Michael Thompson (TRW), Steve Porcaro (Toto) appeared on guitars and keyboards respectively (completing the line-up on the record is NY session drummer Eric Z Daniels whose recent work include coming albums for Robin Beck, Radioactive and Jimi Jamison).
After 3 long years of work, now the wait is over and the album is ready to be unleashed. This is an unashamedly, straight ahead Melodic Rock album with plenty of magnificent hooks and brilliant musicianship. Everyone who’s dreamed to listen again Fergie’s voice singing on material that can live up to the levels of the Le Roux or Toto classics, can now safely add this incredible record to his collection.
Final tracklisting includes:
Let Him Go; Right Heart, Wrong Time; Silver Lining; Crossing Over; Written In Stone; Saving Grace; Baptism By Fire; Can’t Get Enough; Never Try To Love Again; Dead End; Keep A Light On; Left With Nothing.
“Baptism By Fire” is a true Melodic Rock gem which just waits to be discovered on June 8th on Frontiers Records with a Japanese release on King Records.
Robin Beck has been hard at work on her new studio album – here is an update on that and more:
“Hello everyone…. It’s been a while since I wrote my last news letter to you, but I really wanted to have some great stuff for you to read.
It’s been an interesting year… My life has been filled with glorious surprise. Getting back together with one of my favorite songwriters was a big one for me… I am speaking of my dear old friend Jeff Kent… Back in the 80’s we worked together constantly and when I was ready to compose the songs for Trouble Or Nothing Jeff and I met up in England. We wrote ”Jealous Hearts” and ” Sleeping with the enemy” and lots of your other favourites in the following recordings that came out on different records…. Funny… they were called records then and now they are just called CD’s… I prefer records.. The Beatles and the Rolling Stones made records and if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me.
My last record was “Do You Miss Me” and I have to say I was very happy to have put myself back into some sneakers after all those years of running around bare foot and pregnant and then playing mommy to my now co-producing daughter Olivia… She sure has grown up and is letting me know exactly what I should be singing these days…. In fact, it’s because of her that Rock’n’ Roll is a dominant feature in our household… she just loves it. Like they say.. “out of the mouths of babes…”
I’ve been very busy singing and co-writing songs with my producer and husband James. For those of you who don’t know that’s James Christian of the famed House Of Lords.
We started a year and a half ago doing “World Upside Down” for HOL and I worked together with James doing all the backings and I co wrote their song Gone, which you can find on the Japanese releases… I’ve been told it’s a favourite.
Now I’m in the mixing stage of my own record titled “Livin’ On A Dream”. OMG… that’s all I can say…. I wrote just about every song but 2 on this one…. I’ve waited years to get my work out and here it comes…. Along with my writing partners Tommy Denander, James Christian and Jeff Kent… how could I go wrong…. I even pick one up from Jimi Bell, a genius in his own right that. I feel this is my best work to date…. I know you must think that I have to say this kind of thing to wet your appetites but I think your gonna want seconds after you’ve had a minute to digest this one…. It rocks hard and has total emotional range. There are some goodies on the record, but I won’t tell you where they are… you have to listen and either remember or figure out what it is…. Nope I’m not gonna tell you where, just listen! It will bring a smile to the faces of the fans who loved First Time then and now.
I am also in the process of putting together a new DVD of my personal journals and behind the scene travel consisting of the entire “Trouble Or Nothing” years. This is how it really was for me and you get to see it uncut and unedited…. My own reality show…. I didn’t know it then but I was already in one. I’ll be back in touch right after the release of the record… In the mean time please visit my website at robinbeckrocks.com and drop me a line.
I love hearing from you… it always brightens my day… Till then… Love, Robin.”
Royal Hunt have completed song writing for the bands new album which will become a sequel to their critically acclaimed concept opus Paradox. Lyrical/musical continuation of the story will be spread over 10 tracks and the actual recordings will start in May 2007 at NorthPoint Productions while mixing’s been scheduled to September at EMI/Medley Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark.

“There’s no sex and drugs and rock ‘n’ roll in music anymore. We’re here to bring it back and we’re proud of it. We’re not selling out! People are buying in,” grins Bobnoxious singer/guitarist Bob. J. Reid.

Recent winners of Best Metal and Best Rock Act at the London Music Awards, lewd-rockers, Bobnoxious, have spent the past two years blowing away Southern Ontario with their loud guitars, grooving bass and booming drums. Now Bobnoxious is keeping their growing buzz alive by taking their rock on the road this spring from Ontario to BC.

Their must-see stage show comes replete with smashed guitars, blow-up dolls, hot air balloon sized backdrops, confetti cannons, beach balls, bobble heads, drum kits made from trash cans, and questions from notable artists as to, “how are we supposed to follow that?”

Bobnoxious’s latest album Rockaholics The Fun Drinking Game (Wannabe/Fontana North), is a day in the life of a rockaholic with songs like “Shoulda Been Nice To Me” “Main Attraction” and of course “Rockaholics.”  Seasoned with sarcasm, served up on a plate of road rage, Bobnoxious delivers to those who are ready to party.  The latest single “Here We Go Again” was recently released to rock radio across Canada.

The song “Big Cannons” off their debut Two Fisted, Twisted, Rock And Roll” was awarded the Number One Party Song by London rock station FM96, and the band is currently featured on the FM96 Box Poll, where bands and their songs duke it out night after night (www.fm96.com/station/box_poll.cfm). Bobnoxious’s “Here We Go Again” has recently beaten artists of note including: The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billy Talent, My Chemical Romance, The Muse, Stars of Track and Field, and Priestess

Raucous, gritty and bombastic, it’s in-yer-face rock ‘n’ roll that would make Bon Scott raise his glass again. Bobnoxious features Reid (best known as the lead singer/guitarist for the popular rock band S.F.H and vocalist for one of Canada’s most legendary and influential metal bands, Razor), Jeff Bialkowsky (guitar, backing voice), David Wyles (drums, backing voice) and Stan Fountain (bass, backing voice).

With a fan-base that spans generations, Bobnoxious is now playing larger and larger venues and spreading their “Attitude Checked” message from coast to coast in 2007.  Bobnoxious is poised to take Canada by storm.

Chasing Victory New Album and Tour!!!

On May 8th Mono vs Stereo Recording Artist Chasing Victory Is Set To Release “Fiends”.

Hailing from Camilla Georgia, Chasing Victory has just created a monster release titled “Fiends”.
“We all have fiends living inside ourselves.  Some are dormant and hibernating.  Others are alive and vicious.  But when we bring our inner enemies to light, they are disarmed and powerless,” states front man Adam Harrell.

TOURING with August Burns Red March 16 – May 5

It is in this spirit that Chasing Victory has overcome their inner demons to bring forth their sophomore effort, smashing sonic barriers and destroying scene obstacles.  Originally labeled a screamo outfit with their heralded debut “I Call this Abandonment” , “Fiends” is neither core nor just a futile exercise in fashion.  This is an album that forges its own path, a path of classic rock influence and rock n’ roll pioneering.   Heavy and bombastic without being pretentious, it is a dynamic balance of brutality and melody.

“Fiends” is very diverse and each song has something that sets it apart from the rest.  We used a lot of cleaner guitar tracks and let the bass and drums drive the songs to keep from masking everything with thick distortion, which has become very popular these days.  The vocals on the record sound completely different also.  There is a lot more singing and I owe it all to Jeff Buckley and our producer Nathan Dantzler. Nathan really help me capture a vocal sound that I felt comfortable with and steered me away from screaming as much.”

Relentless yet tasteful, “Fiends”  is a much-needed diversion from the glut of heavy music today.  Song-oriented without losing the band’s trademark riffs, a throwback to a time when music was pure, real, honest, and spontaneous.  This is the album that this band needed to make.  Muse-like falsetto meets STP-esque choruses and the occasional gang vocal, and Harrell’s dirt-laden growls.  The whole of the album is fast-paced, though diverse enough in tempo and guitar approach to avoid becoming stale.  Consider the track “Wolves,” as attitude-infused as the Wolfmothers of the world and as melodic as The Foo Fighters.  The guitar lines are ambient, and Harrell’s vocals display great diversity, with an incessant chorus as the payoff.  Another key number is the title track “Fiends.”  More straightforward than any other song on the record, it is easily in the category of melodic radio rock, akin to the AFI.

“Fiends” is rich in imagery, as Harrell and company obviously devoted great effort to lyricism and concept.

Yet, at the core of the record is a spiritual foundation; the message is that by exposing one’s vices they are disarmed.“Most of the characters are battling with some kind of addiction, such as sex, drugs, alcohol, or even arrogance.  Although these are serious topics, the songs have a sarcastic over-the-top quality about them. Like the way old horror movies were scary in their time, but are funny to us now.”

Through constant touring with a host of industry powerhouses (such as Stretch Arm Strong, Project 86, Flee The Seen, Sullivan, Showbread, As Cities Burn, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, The Showdown, and Chiodos), as well as appearing on the Vans Warped Tour the last two summers, Chasing Victory has become one of the top selling artists on the Mono vs. Stereo roster.  But Fiends is in an entirely different category from their previous material, and should catapult the band into consideration as an industry elite.  This, to match with a live show that has developed into one of the most captivating around–thanks in no small measure to their enigmatic and animated front man–and you have the formula for something special in the months to come.

“We just wanted to make a balls-to-the-wall rock record.  I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.  These days in music, it’s so easy to sing the same two-note chorus, play the same chuggy riffs, throw it into Pro Tools, and slap it up your Myspace page before Beethoven has time to roll over in his grave.  We approached everything in the exact opposite way as that last sentence.”

Emily Weedon & Delta CD Release Party Apr 11

www.myspace.com/deltatheband www.emilyweedonanddelta.com

“A slow waltz about a hard-drinking, lying, bruising blowhard who, the tune tells us, was also the sweetest love ever. From an indie LP from an arresting Toronto singer whose blend of steel twang and spun silver places her somewhere between Dolly Parton and Blossom Dearie.” – Robert Everett-Green, globe and Mail

“Delta is going places. The new chick-pop/alt-country rock band, fronted by local singer/songwriter Emily Weedon, has captured the pulse of roots music. In my opinion they should receive a hardy congrats…. Weedon’s evocative lyrics, peppered with her piano and producer Stuart Cameron’s rainbow of guitars has created a Canadian country masterpiece.” – Jennifer Bills, 24Hours Magazine

“With songs about trains, drinking and sex powered by frontwoman Emily Weedon’s high, lonesome chirp, Delta delivered an energetic opening set that got the crowd up and ready”  – Frank Yang, Chromewaves

“If you like Lucinda Williams, you will definitely enjoy Delta’s music. Keep an eye out, a heart open and your ears perked for this group that is on its way to stardom.” – Lindsay Pinto, Excalibur

Out of the dark passages of John 5’s mind comes this mind-blowing, sinister guitar instrumental. ‘The Devil Knows My Name’ is John 5’s third solo album, due out on April 3rd, 2007, which features guest guitar solo’s from two legendary guitarists – Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson with newer legend in-the-make Jim Root (Slipknot).  Keeping time are Zombie band-mates Tommy Clufetos (drums) and Piggy D. (bass). The album was recorded in the middle of night where John 5 would lay down his leads – This is the only album that all leads were doubled – An instrumental feat that is rarely taken on by the best of the guitar players.

‘The Devil Knows My Name’ melds around clues, quotes and references of serial killers, wielding an eerie tone for those who dare to enter the world of John 5’s mind. “I wanted a different tone to the instrumental with twisted imagery of sounds,” explains John 5. “Utilizing serial killers came to light for this project while looking at their crimes and how distorted their minds work.”

Not all is sinister on ‘The Devil Knows My Name’ but there are tunnels to the past greats. John 5 shreds-out his version of Guns N’ Roses ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ and Chet Atkins “Young Thing”. “I chose Welcome To The Jungle for the one reason – when I was becoming successful it was easy to stay in the nest back home, then I saw the video and that made me get up and go to Hollywood.” ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ will be the first release off the album and is hitting the airwaves soon.

John 5 has created a worldwide following as a widely respected guitarist with such platinum artists as Marilyn Manson, David Lee Roth, Rob Halford and now an integral member of Rob Zombie. John 5’s eclectic influences combine for a truly unique guitar oriented record that once again sets new standards in the genre.

Specializing in a sound that manages to merge goth with metal – while not sacrificing melody – the five-man band Crushed should easily garner heaps of crossover interest with their just-released debut, ‘My Machine.’ Hailing from the arid locale of Phoenix, Arizona, the group (which consists of singer/guitarist Mark Lauer, guitarist Mike Halland, guitarist/keyboardist Harry McCaleb, bassist Mike Brown, and drummer Jeff Garten) quickly impressed one of rock’s most renowned producers, Mike Clink, who was the main man behind none other than Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Appetite for Destruction,’ among other rock classics. “Crushed is a blend of hard rock with a melodic overtone, similar to a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” explains Clink. “The band gave 110% to make sure this was the best Crushed album they could deliver.”

Clink’s expertise quickly rubbed off on Crushed, resulting in one helluva debut. “Mike only works on one level and that is top notch professionalism,” adds Lauer. “I have to say I really learned a lot about myself and recording by working with Mike Clink. He encouraged me to dig deeper and to bring out my best.” Garten also voices Lauer’s sentiment. “[Clink] was able to dig in, and bring out the performances that were inside of us. His astute selections of the people he works with have made ‘My Machine’ an album I’m extremely proud to call my own.”

The fourteen-track album perfectly captures ‘the Crushed sound,’ which touches upon riff rockers (“Nocturnal”), melodicism (“Crash Coping”), and tracks that touch upon both approaches (“Hovering”). Having built a solid following in the Arizona region, the group is itching to bring the songs from ‘My Machine’ to life on concert stages throughout the world, admits Halland. “We throw in new songs to test them as well, so fans can hear songs live they would have not heard otherwise. Crushed is a very energetic live band – the band looks at each show as an event.”

Best known for their live performances and classic rock anthems “Slow Ride” and “Fool For The City”, which remain in rotation on many rock radio stations to this day, Foghat continues to bring their hard-edged rock boogie blues to the masses, as tour dates for 2007 have been firmed up.

The group, which features Roger Earl (drums), Craig MacGregor (bass), Charlie Huhn (vocals/guitars) and Bryan Bassett (lead/slide guitar), will issue ‘Live II’. Thirty years ago the Double Platinum ‘Foghat Live’ was released. It is considered to be one of the best live albums of the 70’s. Metro City Records, in conjunction with Foghat Records, will issue a follow-up to ‘Live’ with a self-produced 2-CD set entitled ‘Live II’ on May 22nd. It promises to add to their long list of Gold And Platinum records.

Recorded live in California in 2005, ‘Live II’ features high energy versions of Foghat classics like “Drivin’ Wheel”, and “I Just Want To Make Love To You” as well as the aforementioned “Slow Ride” and “Fool For The City”. The set will also include several additional studio rehearsal bonus tracks. Leading up to this release was the 2003 studio album, ‘Family Joules’ as well as ‘The Official Bootleg DVD Volume 1’ from 2004. As evidenced by these releases, Foghat still has no problem whipping up a blues-rock frenzy for their audience. Your chance to catch the band in the flesh is approaching fast as they will be touring non-stop throughout the year.

Label head Bill Proulx says, “Metro City Records is very proud to sign Foghat. This group is one of the premier bands of classic rock and boogie blues. Foghat is one of the bands I always felt that just didn’t get enough credit for their creative and energetic output. Our goal is to give them the full recognition they deserve. The band also brings to the label an artist that already has a well-established fan base and a commitment to continue putting out great music. I look forward to participate in the continued success of the band.”
