Rating: 4.5/5

For those who don’t know, Kristy Majors was the guitarist for one of the late 80’s most overlooked and underrated bands: Pretty Boy Floyd. This is Kristy’s 4th solo disc and a proven winner with songs that live up to the album’s title.

This new disc offers up some of Kristy’s best material to date along with a couple of surprise covers. From the hard rockin’ title track to the cover of Billy Joel’s “Only The Good Die Young” this is a good time, fun, party rock album. Great guitar sound, upbeat rhythms and steady drum beats all add to the overall sound that gives off that 80’s glam, sunset strip sleaze vibe. The vocals and guitar are really up in the mix but not too over powering as to distract from the enjoyment of listening to the cd. On the mellower “Live Without You” Kristy shows some real great vocals that are quite melodic and bluesy. In true Kristy fashion there is a tinge of Ramones in a couple spots keeping the classic punk feel alive. The 9 originals and 2 covers are some of the best you will ever hear. He adds so much to the Billy track that you will never listen to the original the same again…it’s that good. He really makes that classic his own. < ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The lack of credits in the packaging makes you assume Majors handled all the work himself with the exception of some of the guitar as Kerri Kelly is thanked.

A fantastic disc from an extraordinary musician. The music industry would be a lot better off if there were more artists like him releasing such refreshing tunes. This disc is killer with zero filler.
