TONY HARNELL departures from TNT
Most of you should have seen the statement by Tony Harnell of his departure from TNT. Here it is again:
Tony Harnell: “I was hoping to have a little good news for TNT fans after a press release was prematurely leaked two weeks ago. Since that leak an attempt was made to put together an amazing farewell tour for the fans and we were hoping to announce that in this official release, but unfortunately the other members of the band turned the tour down.”
“It is with a clear mind and a sad heart that I announce my final departure from TNT. It’s been an amazing 22 years and we have created some great music for thousands of faithful fans worldwide. This was a difficult decision, but change is not always a bad thing. The reasons for me leaving are both personal and professional. It is simply time to open a new chapter in my life in a fresh environment. I wish my former colleagues and friends of TNT all the best in their future endeavours both in life and in music. To the fans I wish to express my deepest heartfelt gratitude for your many years of love and support and I look forward to share with you the fruits of my future music creations. I will ask the fans to try to focus on the music and the positive things we did together and will now do apart and ignore the rest. I am excited about the future. The work with my solo project is in full bloom and I can’t wait to see you all on the road again.”
Much Love, Tony.

VIKING SKULL Shows The World That They Were Born In Hell On May 16th, 2006
UK Rockers Sign To 456 ENTERPRISE
Featured On Bam Margera Presents Viva La Bands
Formed by assorted members of the Raging Speedhorn band and crew, Viking Skull thrives on the singularly alcoholic maxim best stated by Roddy Stone, RSH’s long time guitar tech: “It’s gonna be easy. All we gotta do is get in, get fucked and get out.” Roddy, lead vocalist and guitarist of Viking Skull, heads a lineup consisting of guitarist Darren Smith, drummer Gordon Morisson and bassist Waldie. With a ballsy swagger that fits neatly between early Black Sabbath and latter-day Corrosion Of Conformity, Viking Skull provide solid proof that the United Kingdom is still the undisputed home of hard rock music.
On Viking Skull’s debut full-length album, Born In Hell, inspiration comes from the most obvious of places. The foursome from Corby, United Kingdom, eschews a gritty, hard-driving form of hard rock fueled by beer and whiskey with women on the brain. The true charm of Viking Skull lies in their unabashed desire to rock, drink and womanize; all the while churning out songs detailing their exploits. Born In Hell will be re-released in the U.S. on May 16th, 2006. Be prepared: The Skull has come to fuck you up.

THE SALADS DELIVER THE BIG PICTURE MAY 9TH
Canada’s leading ambassadors of fun times, The Salads, are back with a new album The Big Picture, which drops May 9, 2006. Never a band to stay off the road for too long, the band is confirmed for this years Warped Tour and are planning to tour non-stop across Canada.
During The Salads ten years together, they have built up a loyal fan base, particularly after the commercial success of 2003’s Fold A To B, which meant they were in demand to tour a lot; headlining clubs and colleges, and playing on bills such as: Warped, Edgefest, Labatt Blue Motel, City-TV’s New Year’s Eve Bash and The Ice Hotel.
Songs like “Get Loose” and “Today Is Your Lucky Day” (respectively from 2003’s Fold A To B and 2005’s Band Gone Wild DVD – both on Maui Wowie Records/ Kindling Music / Warner Music Canada) have been heard around the world in films like Dreamworks Eurotrip, on TV during Queer As Folk, Hockey Night In Canada and the Olympics and in national commercials for Labatt Blue and GM Canada.
Unlike Fold A To B, which was well varied in style, sound and subject matter, The Big Picture turned out to be a more focused Salads record, lyrically and musically; writing became more mature and music got a bit heavier. Produced by Dan Brodbeck (Dolores O’Riordan/Cranberries, Headstrong), The Big Picture’s tone is more personal and yet universal as it touches more meaningful topics than the band had dared explore before.
“Growing Up” deals with life’s changes as you get older and come to terms with that reality. Memories of 80’s thrash metal surround the concept of being happy in your own skin in “Individual”. “Circles” is about watching the most intelligent person you know battle Alzheimer’s disease. Trying to affect real, positive social change is dealt with in “A Better Way”. This album displays The Salads at their best: as songwriters, as a band, and as men.
Not to worry, The Salads have not gotten too serious on you; they will still bring the fun times to every live show. The only way to they know is to keep their sense of humor and keep focused on THE BIG PICTURE!

CRASH KELLY – ELECTRIC SATISFACTION CD Release and Tour Contest Details
Bhurr Records is pleased to announce the details for CRASH KELLY’s upcoming CD Release and Tour for ELECTRIC SATISFACTION, which will hit stores in Canada on Tuesday April 25th through Bhurr Records / Fontana North / Universal Music. CRASH KELLY frontman Sean Kelly comments, “It feels great to finally unveil this album to all the rock n rollers of Canada…I know in my heart of hearts that we have made a classic record, and I look forward to bringing Electric Satisfaction alive as we blaze a trail across Canada”. The Canadian Release will feature “Canada Only” Cover Art and will be the only territory to include the Sweeney Todd Glam-Classic ROXY ROLLER as a Bonus Track. All other territories will hear Alice Cooper’s COLD ETHYL as the Bonus Track on the US Version slated for July release on Liquor and Poker Music / Century Media Records.
The ELECTRIC SATISFACTION Tour is presented by Jägermeister with support from BC Rich Guitars and Exclaim! Magazine. The 11 city / 14 show tour kicks off in St. John’s, NL on May 1 and wraps in Winnipeg on May 17th.
ELECTRIC SATISFACTION (BHR-151): CRASH KELLY knew that following up an album like the “glam classic in waiting” debut PENNY PILLS would be no easy task, what with the critical acclaim garnered from publications such as SPIN, The Village Voice and Classic Rock, but CRASH KELLY knew what had to be done. CRASH KELLY headed to Los Angeles where ELECTRIC SATISFACTION was recorded and produced by none other than former GUNS N ROSES (and soon to be Rockstar Supernova) axe-slinger, GILBY CLARKE. The City of Angels proved to be a fitting backdrop for CK leader SEAN KELLY’s tales of faded glitter on the boulevard of broken dreams. Clarke’s affinity for classic production techniques and Kelly’s penchant for crafting songs steeped in the tradition of 70’s power pop, glam, and classic rock, has resulted in an album that is guaranteed to “put the shock in your rock n roll”. Bhurr Records will release ELECTRIC SATISFACTION in Canada under license from Century Media Records imprint Liquor and Poker Music. Lead single “RIDE THE WIRE”(track 2) was previewed on Jägermeister Canada’s – Volume 1 Compilation which was released at Canadian Music Week in March. Feedback has been amazing and the single will be serviced to Rock Radio in conjunction with the ELECTRIC SATISFACTION TOUR.
A finalist in Guitar Player magazine’s Guitar Hero 2005 competition, SEAN KELLY puts his “70’s boogie on the 80’s sunset strip” style of lead guitar to stellar use on ELECTRIC SATISFACTION. His velvet and whiskey-soaked voice is augmented by co-guitarist ALLISTER THOMPSON piping in with Thin Lizzy-esque guitar harmonies and Keith Richards approved slash and burn. The powerhouse rhythm section of JORDAN MICHAEL STEWART and KEVIN TAYLOR anchor the line-up, and help to lay a most solid foundation for the house that Rock built. Tour Dates in the USA, Canada, The UK, Ireland, Holland, and Germany have resulted in a live show that is equal parts Madison Square Garden strut and swagger and CBGB’s frenetic energy.
ELECTRIC SATISFACTION TOUR AND CONTEST: CRASH KELLY is excited to kick off THE ELECTRIC SATISFACTION Tour at Mile One Stadium in St. John’s, Newfoundland with the one and only ALICE COOPER.
CRASH KELLY will also join ALICE COOPER on tour in Brandon and Winnipeg. CRASH KELLY CD Release Club Dates will follow the ALICE COOPER Canadian Tour and will act as unofficial afterparty events for the ALICE COOPER Tour. To mark this auspicious occasion, CRASH KELLY has teamed up with band sponsors Jägermeister and BC Rich Guitars for a very cool contest that will run during May while the band is on the first leg of the ELECTRIC SATISFACTION Tour.
CRASH KELLY fans will have the chance to win one of 4 amazing price packs consisting of:
– BC RICH Platinum Series Warlock or Bronze Series Mockingbird Guitar custom painted in Jäger colours

JOHN 5 – ROB ZOMBIE’S NEW GUITAR SPEED DEMON
ON THE “EDUCATED HORSES” TOUR
John 5 has made a permanent home with Rob Zombie as his lead-guitar Speed Demon. It all started when John 5 and Zombie came together last year at the Arrowhead Pond Arena for a benefit. They played Thunder Kiss 65 and Zombie knew John 5 was the right shredder to complete his merry band of monsters. “I’m totally stoked about this because this guy is a fucking shredder,” explains Zombie. “I played Thunder Kiss 65 with him at The Arrowhead Pond Arena for a benefit last year and it never sounded so fucking good.”
Fresh off the major success of his latest feature film, “The Devil’s Rejects,” Rob Zombie is returning this spring to his first passion – music – playing it live and loud. Zombie has finished recording his third solo studio CD, “Educated Horses” (Geffen Records).
Zombie is now on the last leg of The “Educated Horses Tour”. The tour started March 17th in Jacksonville, Florida and is crossing the United States to conclude in Mesa, Arizona on April 27th. Joining Rob on this tour will be guitarist John 5 (ex-Marilyn Manson), longtime bassist Blasko and drummer Tommy Clufetos (ex-Alice Cooper & Ted Nugent). Supporting act for the tour will be Goth metal band Lacuna Coil.
“Educated Horses” was produced by Zombie and long time producer Scott Humphrey (Metallica, Motley Crue), who together also produced the platinum hits Hellbilly Deluxe and The Sinister Urge. Other musicians contributing to the CD are Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Vandals) and Tommy Lee. The album’s debut single, the anthemic “Foxy Foxy, ” will begin play on Modern Rock and Active Rock radio on February 13th.

RYAN LUCHUCK BAND ANNOUNCES A SUPER HAPPY HEARTBREAK CD & TOUR
Piano rocker Ryan Luchuck’s follow up to 2003’s debut EP has finally arrived. A Super Happy Heartbreak CD Release Party will be held in Toronto, Ontario on May 12th at the Horseshoe Tavern followed by Luchuck’s first cross Canada tour.
The full length debut, A Super Happy Heartbreak is full of emotional highs and lows. While songs like “Beautiful” and “Only Girl” are optimistic, “That’s When You Know” is the ultimate breakup song. There is also a song for any girl wise enough not to date musicians “I’m Not Waiting.” “People were starting to doubt we’d ever finish this album,” says piano rocker Ryan Luchuck (l-oo-chuck), referring to the nearly three years since his debut EP “It definitely seemed at times that fate didn’t want it to happen, well too bad because here it is.” After years of songwriting, a failed six month recording attempt with a known producer and a flooded rehearsal space ($10,000 in equipment lost), the guys hit the studio on their own in early 2006 and recorded sixteen songs in three weeks. Luchuck will now embark on his first cross Canada tour to support the release.
Originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, Luchuck moved to Toronto in 2002 and soon landed a weekly gig playing covers in a college piano bar. Between taking requests, he began to play his own songs to the drunken crowd. To his surprise, his originals became more popular than many rock’n’roll classics. These songs were released on his debut EP in 2003. With no promotional budget, Luchuck managed to sell 1,500 copies and garner rave reviews from critics worldwide. After recording his debut EP alone, Luchuck formed a band originally only for live shows. Ben Adivi (drums) and Jason Eagan (bass) joined and soon became an integral part of the piano rock sound. The Ryan Luchuck Band has won fans across Ontario and Quebec with their energetic live shows and was voted the #3 act of Canadian Music Week 2005 by The Coast Magazine (Halifax). www.ryanluchuck.com/ www.myspace.com/ryanluchuck

JOHN-5 – FOUNDING MEMBER OF LOSER
LEAVES BAND AND ISLAND RECORDS
HOLLYWOOD (April 17, 2006) – Island Records made the decision to drop the band Loser when founding member John 5 decided to leave Loser and maintain his position as the guitarist for Rob Zombie. “Being the founding member of Loser, my decision to leave was not an easy one,” states John 5. “I’ve been juggling two careers both with Loser and Rob Zombie for over 1 year now. I found it impossible to be in two places at once.”
With the success of Rob Zombie’s 2006 tour and the additional dates added, this had made it impossible for John 5 to promote Loser accordingly. In discussions, John 5 had wanted to bring in a replacement guitarist for Loser’s live shows. Island Records was in opposition to the suggestion as that is not “what they had signed on for”. In that regard, Island Records chose to drop the act with the absence of John 5. “I understand the decision from the label but feel it could have worked out for everyone involved. I wish Joe, Glen and Charles all the success they deserve, they are amazing guys and deserve their shot. ”

THE FLAIRS ANNOUNCE SHUT UP AND DRIVE & NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
After creating a buzz with their 2004 debut EP, The Flairs are ready to rock the world with the new full length CD Shut Up and Drive. The first single and video is a spin on Skid Row’s “18 & Life” which will hit rock radio this month, with the CD being released May 16th in Canada (Pacific Music/Warner) and June 13th in the U.S (Burnside). Hard-working as ever, The Flairs are preparing for their intensive cross Canada and US tours which kick off in Vancouver May 19th.
After virtually growing up in Tuuli and opening for bands such as The Donnas, Disturbed and Rock legends Cheap Trick, Dawn Mandarino (vocals and guitar) and Jen Foster (drums and vocals) decided to form their own band. The Flairs story started in the summer of 2002 when Dawn and Jen met Bif Naked’s guitar slinger, Gillian Hanna (lead guitar and vocals) as they played North American outdoor festivals and concerts. All three found the common ground and added Gillian’s brother Ryan Hanna (bass) to the trio and the band was officially born.
The Flairs attribute their unique sound to their individual influences; Dawn’s love for the Ramones, Jen’s ska-influenced punk in the vein of the Dance Hall Crashers, and Hanna’s passion for heavy guitar rock groups like Metallica and Guns ‘N Roses. Those influences go hand in hand with the bands that initially sparked their imagination like Veruca Salt, Nirvana, Garbage and Stone Temple Pilots. In the mix, they have created a sound they can call their own.
The Flairs constantly tour across North America appearing at festivals such as NXNE, Canadian Music Week, New Music West, Seattle’s ROCKRGRL Conference and L.A.’s International Pop Overthrow. They have shared the stage with David Lee Roth, Vanilla Ice and Robin Black. Two videos from their 2004 EP “Ready to Roll” and “Falling into Pieces” were played on MuchMusic on a regular basis.
The Flairs are also about to shoot a video for their second single off the album “Sorry 4 Lovin’ You” to be released during the 2006 summer tour. The Flairs are a forceful live act that continues to expand their already rabid-fan base with passion and drawing power. www.theflairs.com www.myspace.com/theflairs.com

Norma Jean are currently in Radio Star Studios in Weed, CA recording their new album with Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Glassjaw, At the Drive In, From First to Last, The Cure, ETC.) After the success of NJ’s latest album, released just last year, “O God the Aftermath,” scanning more than 90,000 units; the band is now working on their next masterpiece for Solid State. Norma Jean started recording their new album beginning on April 7th and hope to wrap it up by the end of May. After a short rest, NJ gets ready to roll out big for their appearances on this year’s Ozzfest.
Norma Jean is very excited for this year. Here’s what vocalist, Cory Brandan has to say: “We are thrilled to an insane degree about this year. We will be recording a new record this April with Ross Robinson. We really think he will be able to bring something out in us and our music. Also we’re doing Ozzfest. I think it’s one of the best things you can do as a heavy band. It will do enormous things for us and our music, plus we get total bragging rights.
