Helltrain that was founded in 2002 by Pierre and all of the members have a past in the Swedish black and death metal scene. We have members from Scheitan, The Everdawn, Gates of Ishtar, Defleshed, Battlelust, The Moaning and Raised Fist.
Last year they released the EP “THE 666″ last year and they were voted number 6 in the alternative chart at mp3.com before it closed down. Jimmy Pop from Bloodhound Gang says “It’s like Misfits but with an attitude!”.
Helltrain plays death’n’roll and they have musical similarites with what Entombed plays today. The only difference is that Helltrain sounds like more dirty rock’n’roll compared to Entombed. The lead vocals are aggressive and brutal with really sharp guitar riffs and some heavy bass playing. In other words it’s heavy diesel smelling death’n’roll.
The producer behind this is Daniel Bergstrand (Darkane, Meshuggah, In Flames etc) and the recording was made in his own Dug-Out Studio in Uppsala Sweden. With Daniel behind the mixing table nothing can go wrong. He has created an amazing sound and has managed to get the absolutely best out of the guys. Daniel is probably one of the best producers in Sweden today. Helltrain’s music is a bit different to what he’s used to produce but of course he managed to do that just fine.
There are 11 tracks on this debut and all of the material is of a really high standard. If you haven’t guessed it by now I think this is totally brilliant. This album can get any party started right away. I’ve listened to this album a million times and its only getting better each time. So ride on with the Helltrain coven “Satan’s Party Crew”.
Killer tracks are “ROUTE 666″; “THE HELLTRAIN COVEN”; “POLIZEI”; “ROT’N’ROLL”; “RAT PACK” and “SLEEPLESS”.
Helltrains debut album is jammed with strong material, competent musicians, a brilliant singer, a lot of sing a long friendly choruses and a really nice looking cover.
